GCU's coming along as a program. Wonder when others stop scheduling them when its realized they can recruit and compete?

That gets them bigger names to play. Just like Gonzaga now, being a powerhouse now gets you bigger name teams to play you and not only that but go to Spokane to play the Zags.

Think so? I think there's a special kind of hatred for for-profit schools who have different options to become competitive. The higher ed way of handling that is...acting like they don't exist.

It won't matter if he makes the NCAA Tournament or NIT. D-II losses don't count to the committee unless I'm mistaken.

Well lets see, Louisville, Arizona, Duke and now the MW schools don't mind playing them.

1) Just because a team will schedule another team, doesn't mean they want to associate in a conference.
2) A lot of that is favors to Jerry Colangelo, and won't likely be repeated in the future (i.e. now that Jurich is out at Louisville, that personal avenue is gone, etc.)

We aren't talking conference affiliation, it's about scheduling and that the more GCU is competitive they will get bigger names to play them more.
Also forgot to Illinois scheduled them also.

Again, the Colangelo effect. He's an Illinois alum. Runs USA Basketball with Coach K. GCU On his own merits has not done anything to earn home in homes with those schools it's all favors to Jerry. it's really not that hard to figure that out

RE: Laughable College Basketball Scores- Week 4
I'm giving you advance notice of what might qualify as a laughable score.

NCAA D1 Northwestern State (LA) is traveling to play NAIA DI LSU Shreveport today. This is an "overlap" game, where a high NAIA school is roughly the same level as a lower D1. LSUS is 12-1 and rated #2 in the NAIA, while NSU is 3-5, including a 67-56 home win over NAIA Lyon (3-6). Its very rare for an NCAA D1 to travel to play an NAIA school. Technically this isn't a home game because it's in an arena in Shreveport, not LSUS's home gym, but it is their territory.

http://www.kalb.com/content/sports/Demon...12183.html

Game time is 5pm today. You can watch this on your big screen TV if you have AppleTV, Amazon Fire or Roku by downloading the NAIA Network app (free). You can also watch on your computer at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/lsus/ or at https://collegetvticket.com/schedule/index/page/2.

The fact you were down 13 and needed OT to beat Georgetown is the laughable part.

What an idiotic statement...it is a rivalry game and at DC. We are their Super Bowl.

I was actually going to congratulate your team's win today.

Worse kind of loss. Syracuse led for exactly zero minutes and zero seconds in the second half. How do you win that? We lead basically the whole game. Up 7 with just over 2 minutes to go, then don't score the rest of the way. We gave it away in regulation, i didn't bother to watch OT. Ridiculous loss against anyone, has taken me three hours to be able to post about it.

And against *Syracuse*?

Georgetown would have to win 20 games to even sniff the NIT with the putrid SOS this year.

Yes, even our Big East schedule won't help. The OOC schedule is abjectly bad, designed to help Pat Ewing ease in to the job.

Losing to Syracuse the way we lost today, just mind-barfing.
