playoff squirrel
it would be great if it made another appearance on Friday. gotta love 16,000 people cheering on a squirrel to cross the goal line.

Was really great that the ref signaled the TD .. spit up some brew when that happened

Too bad it wasn't really caught on camera...the ref that is. Did it make ESPN top 10?

Not trying to come off too Darren Rovell-esque, but JMU Athletics marketing just got served up a belt-high fastball. They could really do a lot with this for the remainder of the playoffs (video board clip, social media campaign, etc.)

Someone has it on film... cant recall exactly where i saw it (FB probably) but looked like it was filmed from about the 20 at that endzone...ref waited for it and nailed the signal. totally agree on capitalizing on the fun (chain, plank, squirrel)

RE: playoff squirrel
It was replayed as a highlight on the scoreboard. Gotta still have it.
Also appreciated the "TOUCHDOWN" on the scoreboard after the squirrel made it in.

RE: playoff squirrel
Saw a video where the squirrel began its journey on the APC side of the field. The video began it starting to run from the 10 yard line. Like a kickoff return.

RE: playoff squirrel
I've said this before, release the squirrel when we are on Defense. Even those stiff lipped folks who never cheer, yelled when they see Squirrel.

YES, this should definitely become a thing when we need a boost:
Release the Squirrel!

"Release the Squirrel" in Blacksburg means "tailgatin' food is ready".

The squirrel was the highlight of the day for my wife. I've never heard her talk about a JMU game more than she did yesterday; it's was all about the squirrel. Oh well, at least I can get her to go to games.

Squirrel is on the same wavelength as The Wave for me. I was like Ohh great here we go everybody's going to get jacked for a damn squirrel. HEY there's a FOOTBALL GAME going on over here! Now squirrel has his own thread. Even made the game highlight video.

I'm glad the game was in hand by the time squirrel tried to get his time. Get off my lawn kids.

We cant play it for every down on Offense, the game would take forever.

Yeah it’s a little sad that a squirrel was able to elicit more enthusiasm from some of the crowd than the actual football game did.

Why can't a random fun moment be just that... a random fun moment? Now we want to make it a THING? Come on, folks.
If the squirrel were to show up again, then by all means lets go nuts (pun intended).

Squirrels and sports are a match meant to be. Americans love it. There’s always a squirrel in the sport center top 10.
