You mean "Windoze"? Nope, I hear all the muss and fuss over them, but have never really had any major problems.....lest I say "Yet". 03-lol The only probs I've run into so far have been "operator malfunction", if you get my drift.... 03-wink

I've had relatively little trouble with XP. I think it's the best Windoze out so far. The System Restore is a great feature in that if you "monkey" something up, you can restore the computer to an earlier date and what you've "monkeyed" up will be conveniently "fixed"! 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol

Man, I need that, then... About to run out of my service contract. I've had to have my registry date reset a coupla times.. Was wondering which of the newer Windows was best for my home use.
I run W98 2nd Edition now.

XP is a different breed of cat from all the other versions of Windoze.

I'm certainly not a "techie", but once I got used to XP, I wouldn't want to go back to Windoze 98. It was on the old computer I had before I bought this one.

Of course, you still need to run scandisk, delete your temporary Internet files and run the disk defragmenter once in a while to keep your computer running at top efficiency, but I sure like it better!

I almost had to use that restore thing-a-ma-jig a few weeks ago, but I couldn't remember when I had "monkeyed" it up. 03-lol so I just let it be.

If your computer isn't very new, and not as fast as the new pc's, Windoze 2000 Pro would be a good alternative. It is just as reliable as Windoze XP, but dosen't require as much rescources. That's FYI @ no charge :D

Mine currently has 256 Megs of RAM. This other one I've, er, come by has 512 Megs of RAM.

I think I can upgrade mine to 512 for less than a C-Note.

it's my opinion that I don't run XP on a machine with less than 256 mb of ram. It will run, but it seems to lag a little. If I were you, I would go with Windows 2000 Pro, you will like it, I assure you. Plus, it doesn't look as diffrent as XP.
