I think so too, Southern Miss is weaker this year and has failed miserably against P5 teams... Washington and weak Kentucky team. I hope they pull it off but even decimated Florida State without a coach is probably gonna beat this years Southern Miss team

The FSU rep was quoted via the bowl in the local paper saying FSU wanted to play against a name school from the conference. Seemed brash as a Lane Kiffen comment to make and was surprised to see it.

The champ always gets screwed and USM almost always gets the best matchup. USM us officially the real cusa champs this season. Playing FSU would be a heck of a treat if it was Marshall, cusa championship be damned.

Kiffin said he wanted to stay close to home so fans could attend. FAU had choice of all of our bowl tie ins. Independence Bowl isn’t a primary tie in, so only way they can choose it is if Indy chooses them. They obviously didn’t want the 20 fans FAU would bring.

Stupidity keeps rolling out of your posts. We only lost by 13 of a very good Washington team and beat Kentucky last year. We did lose to Tennessee and Kentucky in close matches this year.

Woulda beat Kentucky if Hopson started Griggs and woulda beat UT if Griggs was healthy enough to start (although they took his cast off the next day). Came in at end and led only TD drive from our own 5.

USM is a 17.8 underdog, biggest underdog of the entire bowl season, going by the Sagarin Predictor.

C-USA projected 2-7 with FAU and WKU the only winners.
