1. Southern Miss fans excited about playing FSU in bowl game
2. A select few fans upset that it is not their school and voice their opinion
3. Vitriol is thrown between Southern Miss fans and others
4. Said select fans bring up Southern Miss lives in the past, etc
5. Southern Miss fans tell them we hang our hats on the past, etc
6. Select fans (and a Southern Miss fan) tell Southern Miss they aren't allowed to think that

AAC is much stronger than CUSA 2.0 because of Cincinnati, Navy, Temple and UConn teams that USM were never a associated with not losers U's like ECU, Tulsa, SMU, Memphis or Tulane

Actually, teams like Hawaii and Boise were able to go to a BCS bowl because of teams like LaTech and all the other weak teams in the WAC. That's why WAC FB is dead.

Revisionist History, CUSA 2.0 was just as irrelevant on the national scene as CUSA 3.0 thats one of the reason USM was able to have those mediocre seasons of 7-8 wins and go to bowl games.

Meanwhile Tech was playing ranked teams and even top 5 teams half way across the country so cry me a river

It really is comical. Nobody cares about Tulane, SMU, Tulsa, ECU, even Memphis and Houston football ( Memphis and Houston were down right awful in the 90's and 00's, not until 2008 when Briles took over)
