I think that’s possible. We had right around and maybe over 30,000 the last couple times we were in the Nola bowl

I expect more Troy fans than UNT fans considering we average more at home.

Yea, good analysis. Let's see, Troy to New Orleans = 309 miles* (4hr 43Min)
Denton to New Orleans = 542 miles* (8 hr 16Min). So yes, I would say Troy should have more fans at the NO Bowl.07-coffee3

No excuses, just fact. Based on prior NO bowl appearances by North Texas, we should get a decent turnout by Mean Green fans. 17-20,000 or so. +-07-coffee3

5 hours is max for me. With a family, anything more just doesn’t make much sense. Distance alone should result in more Troy fans.

Amazing how many people think there is a huge talent gap between the SBC and CUSA. I'll agree that we are probably the worst FBS conference this year, but CUSA is literally an inch or two ahead of us.

That said most of the mean green fans are logical and I'll try to catch up with them in New Orleans. Hope to do some tailgating.

Most years they arnt ahead of us.... even this year I think their top teams are no better than our top.

They just have better middle/bottom ones this year

We are very beat up. I doubt you will see any public release of who is in and who is out.

Well. we wouldn't let you leave Jonesboro without a parting gift. We didn't get a ton more beat up after that game, but we were pretty beat up going into it. Not sure who will be out yet for Saturday. Anderson hasn't spoken to the media since the Troy game to my knowledge.

RE: New Orleans Bowl Troy vs UNT
My guesses are:

Sam Letton
Tray Eafford
Emannuel Thompson
Jamarius Henderson (questionable)
Sam Lebbie (questionable)

Not sure who else after that. Those are some big losses if they wind up being out for the bowl. I'm just glad we still have some good WR's that will be available, especially Johnson, Douglas, McCormick, and Willis. If we can have Chunn along with Henderson healthy in the backfield, I think we'll be okay.

Weatherspoon and Kelley were injured during the game. Don't know if they came back in or not. I could have sworn I saw Blace back in for a series.

Chunn looked a little wobbly part of the way into our game. How is he?

I am not sure of the average for the year. I would guess around 25k. I do know that our last two home games (Army and UTEP) had 27k+, which is the most we have had at the end of season in a long time.

As far as injuries go we are also banged up, who isn't at this time of the year. Our biggest loss so far is our RB Jeff Wilson (1,215 YDS / 16 TD). Losing him really hurts us in the pass blocking schemes. We gave up 25 sacks all year, and then gave up 9 in the CUSA CCG with him out. Young backs behind him are talented, but hopefully they are using the extra practices to pick up pass blocking.

Our offense will go as far as Mason Fine can take us:

Fun Stat - Rushing TDs Allowed

Troy 6th - 7 TDs
UNT 119th - 32 TDs

Looks like Chunn will have a field day and go out a winner in his last collegiate game ever. 05-stirthepot Chunn has 47 career touchdowns. Here's to getting 50!

A bunch of North Texas guys claim our stats are bogus because we play in the SBC. Time to show them who's boss on the line of scrimmage.

Guess holding LSU scoreless in the entire first half was overlooked?

And who are they to talk about Sun belt. They couldnt even get a winning season post 2004

RE: New Orleans Bowl Troy vs UNT
Injury Update:

Troy's top receiver and top cornerback are out with injuries (Emanuel Thompson and Blace Brown). Our top deep threat receiver is also out. Another receiver, a red-shirt senior is also out. So we're really short staffed there.

The upside is that Chunn and Henderson are healthy. Also way fewer defensive guys out than I had previously thought. Only one it seems. Big loss, but the front seven remains in tact.
