Nice crowd numbers but dead. The small band at the Alumni breakfast was fun but the full on band in the stadium, dead and yeah I can see why the BG people were picking on it. Be kind of embarassing but I don't think they actualy show the halftimes on tv anymore so I suppose it doesn't matter.

Fun stadium, my first time in an NFL stadium but no Glassbowl. I don't usually miss those steep steps but seeing how hard it is to watch a game with those shallow seats.... My seating was pretty much useless for anyone wanting to watch the game, so I mostly roamed around. Detroit people are very friendly. Everyone working the stadium very nice. Didn't hesitate to approach and direct me to wherever I was lost getting to.

The buffet put up for the Alumni Assoc was very good, need to track down some of those sausages but I expect they didn't expect so many fans. Ran out of things, took a bit to replenish, meanwhile there was a full buffet one floor down that they didn't tell anyone about. Suppose I could have gone upstairs and mentioned it but I was busy eating.

Watching an ESPN/Replay/Review game is brutal. I was begging it to end. Glad I got to see an NFL stadium and UT win the MACC but quite honestly, can't see me doing it again.
Good!!!!!!

The fact is that they are so talented that they could normally play over penalties, lapses, early red zone meltdowns, mistakes and multiple injuries and still go 11-2 with a chance still out there to collect a 12th victory and thus match he record number of season wins set in Ealey era. The only thing this team lacked was the ability to execute consistently on all aspects of the game for an entire game. The 2000 team was the best executing team I can remember watching-----there were very, very few dropped passes, missed blocks or missed tackles, very few penalties and an extremely favorable turnover margin. Woodside is a remarkable QB and holds most of the important records but I still think that the 2000 Rockets were the "best" Rocket team in terms of playing up to their potential game after game although in the end, one slight misstep and they did not win the MAC and thus achieve their overall potential..... nor did they get a bowl invitation even though they finished 10-1 and were ranked at the time of the bowl selections.

You think 2000 was better at playing to potential than the Ealey led teams? Those guys executed very well. To watch them when they got behind (WMU and Villanova in 1971, for example) was like watching a coaching video or reading a textbook. They just didn’t make mistakes. That 2000 Team was also awfully good but.... they did one thing no Ealey Team ever did.

Especially the Defense. Frank X being a former Marine was really tough. I remember the days of the moon suits and those hill sprints up outside of the Glass Bowl, to the right side of the practice field.

RE: MAC FOTBALL CHAMPS!!!!!!
Anyone else notice the number of different Rockets that made a tackle in this game? Is there a record?

We ran that hill a LOT. Kinda hated to see them put in the steps and pavilion there.
