Either one of those teams could beat any SEC team by 10 points on a neutral field. But neither will get a chance to compete for a national championship because the college football system sucks. We will never know because they are restricted from competeing for it all no matter how good they are.

Any sec team may be a stretch. I’m not sure exactly how good ucf is but it’s better than they are ranked that’s for sure.

Both teams playing defense the way they are today is what makes me question how well they would fair.

It's really why I can't stand college football. Because of all the "certainties" decided off the field.

It’s very annoying to me as well.

It needs to go to 8, and end this charade. I don’t know what the gap between these teams is in a neutral site, but it’s not as big as some make it out to be.

We also have no clue what this committee full of people is going to do tomorrow. There are about a dozen different things that can happen, and they just get to arbitrarily decide who they want to put in if any of the top four teams loses.

I dislike the SEC and I mainly watch SEC football games to see certain teams lose but I have to disagree. Memphis beat UCLA and Houston. Not bad teams but both would win 2-3 games in the SEC. Houston was destroyed by a bad Tulsa team. At best the Tigers might win 4 league games if they in the SEC West. USF is UCF's biggest win, followed by a bad Maryland.

Memphis and UCF are very good teams but I don't see the athletes on defense like Bammer, AU, UGA, etc. Both do a good job scheduling beatable P5 opponents like Ole Miss and Maryland. If they want serious consideration for a playoff spot they will have to play and beat some of the big dogs. Hopefully both will get a chance against good P5 opponents in their bowl games and they can prove me wrong.

I have said nothing about playing in the SEC. I am talking about a one game neutral field game for something that means something like a championship. You guys can disagree but can't prove it because it won't happen. Teams like Memphis or UCF can't even grow their programs because coaches that succeed get poached away.

As much as Blazer fans hate the SEC they still buy into the SEC propaganda.

Memphis and UCF have to beat some top P5 teams in the regular season before I believe they can win a championship or beat any SEC team by 10+. Beating Old Miss, Maryland, Kansas etc doesn't prove much. UCF's Fiesta Bowl win vs #6 Baylor was great but then they cratered. Maybe they can meet and beat a top P5 in their bowl. If Memphis football wants national respect, schedule and beat teams at the top of P5 conferences, not the bottom.

I think Troy could give either a hell of a game.

But those top P5 teams won't play anyone who might challenge their dominance. That's why college football sucks.

And that is the truest part. It’s not sec propaganda in my opinion though, it’s watching football. I don’t see how either of those teams could beat a team like auburn/Oklahoma/etc. anywhere right now though.

I love watching the SEC lose. That's why I watch their games. But I watch a lot of games period. IMO what sets the top of the P5 apart is their athleticism on defense, particularly the DL. There is a very finite amount of 6-6 300 lb football players with elite athleticism. They go to the programs with the highest profile and surest path to the NFL.

Great game for the AAC. Entertaining football. Hope both teams get a good P5 opponent.

Oklahoma is built very much like UCF. Statistically they look a lot alike. I like this UCF team. They rep the G5 very well. They're fun to watch.

That said, Oklahoma would score a hundred points on UCF. There's a big difference in athletes. They tore up a very good TCU defense today. UCF's would have been converted to confetti.

What you saw today out of Memphis was why I didn't want to see them against us in the B'ham Bowl. It wouldn't have been pretty.

Nebraska will announce Scott Frost as HC tomorrow, but he and his staff will coach UCF in the Peach Bowl, per Football Scoop.

RE: UCF - Memphis is a ping pong match shoot out.
As long as the top P5 teams can sign dozens of the top ESPN 300 recruits while the top G5 teams sign only one or two at most, the perceived gulf between the two will continue. If someone made those top P5 teams meet the top G5 teams every year, the recruiting advantage will be diminished just like it was after the first years following the merger of the NFL and the AFL. After the early years, the NFL advantage decreased with the common draft.

UCF with the 62-55 win in double OT.

With OSU beating up Wisconsin, UCF will be the only undefeated team left.

With luck, they might move up from 14 to 13.
