RE: Liberty Bowl vs Peach Bowl
If Alabama is in the Peach then I'd almost rather go to the Liberty. I love my Tigers, but IMO Alabama would put a UAB style whooping on us.

Memphis has played 5 of the top 35 offenses this year, including the #4 and #12 offenses, and went 4-1.
Alabama played 2 top 35 and went 1-1. ( Lost to #18 and beat #23)
Memphis' total offense is #5. Alabama is #22. If there is a beatdown coming, I'm not sure Alabama is the team giving it.

The flip side of that coin is that Alabama also has the #2 total defense vs our #111. The highest rated defense that we have gone up against is #73 UCF which we lost 40-13 (under less than ideal conditions granted).
The lowest rated defenses that Alabama has played were #103 and #116 who they beat by scores of 44-9 and 66-3. The #23 offense (Ole Miss) that Alabama beat mentioned above a team with the #116 defense and lost 66-3.

Defenses tend to look good against teams that arent great offensively. Our defense looked pretty good against Tulsa and ECU. Alabamas defense is better, but our offense would still torch them.

I can assure you that nothing would make me happier as a Tiger fan than to beat Alabama in the Peach Bowl, so I hope I'm completely wrong in the event of that matchup. Either way, win today and let the rest of the games play out. Then we can have fun debating this all the way through New Years Day.
Go Tigers!

I keep seeing the Peach Bowl mentioned as definite, but the G5 has gotten the Fiesta, Peach, Cotton in the 3 years of this arrangement, and the Cotton is already scheduled to have the G5 two years from now. Is it known for sure that it won't be the Fiesta this year? I know the tie-ins and match-ups affect it, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was an "even rotation" concept behind the scenes.

I love what our players have done this yr.
But the program is bigger than them.
A Liberty bowl vs. West va or Texas would sell out with tons of Tiger fans.
It would EASILY be the best bowl in our history.
This trumps the players having the benefits of travelling for a bowl game vs bowl game in Memphis.

It has been reported that the G-5 rep will go to the Peach Bowl if it's from AAC (or another east conference) or the Fiesta if it's from the MWC. The Cotton is exempt from the G-5 rep this year. All of this from media reports.

18 k no way.
I think u meant 18 k Tiger fans. No way.
Opponent brings 10 k.If tigers had only 18 k then, Liberty bowl is not quite half full. I venture to say a memphis in Liberty bowl bowl will easily be over half full.

Liberty Bowl vs Peach Bowl
Who cares if we lose 66-3 to Alabama in the Peach. I was worried about this too earlier but now I'm just happy to get the exposure and for the orogram, recruiting etc. Nobody will expect us to win it anyway so there's no downside. And it forces the media to have to talk about and promote us.

RE: Liberty Bowl vs Peach Bowl
Peach is most desirable. No question there.
Liberty is a great consolation however.
