Who are you calling a dumb*** dude? I’m unaware of most posters here doing the jock sniffing thing you throw around. I can’t think of any posts where I proclaimed Tubby as the savior or that he would coach em up. I probably did say he was/is better than Pastner. And he is a better coach, but most likely his time here will not be better than Pastner’s.
What I did say was I wanted to give him a chance. I thought it was possible he wanted to have one last run before retirement. I thought it was possible he came to a very good basketball school to win. Me thinking those things were possible doesn’t make me or anyone else a dumb***.

Well you choosing to see how the team played prior to blasting Tubby and the staff certainly doesn’t make you a dumb***.

What about Rudd and Laurie and the rest of the big boosters who made the calls to Tubby and eventually convinced him to except the job for BIG money here? Are they dumbazzes too? Because all I did was say, give the man a chance first. Tubby would not have been my first call or second, third, or all the way up to 40+.

I wanted Archie Miller, Buzz Williams, Gregg Marshall, or Penny. I never posted, hey lets go after Tubby Smith.

All of that is true, but I think there’s more to it. I think he (Tubby) has a huge amount of stubbornness and or set in his way going on. The idea of a strategy that has the staff moving on from good recruits who don’t commit to Tubby right away or don’t show interest in them is absolutely pathetic. It shows no determination. And Saul was quoted saying as much in the CA.

He somehow recruited better at Texas Tech and Minnesota. We are traditionally stocked with top 30 classes. Those schools are not. It doesn’t make sense.

Yes, I know that little Pitino is doing well right now. That probably has something to do with his father.

Yep he did recruit better at those schools. He and a couple of Memphis kids beat the crap out of Pastner when he was at Minnesota.

It makes no sense to not be able to at least recruit at the level he did at Minnesota and TT. All I know is Rudd has to fix this. He along with some big money guys created this mess and now they need to fix it.

I thought they hired some hot shot recruiting coordinator. What has he been doing lately? Other than NOTHING. This staff has totally dropped the ball.

Or we see a program on the decline and want the incompetence at the top of the program to stop because we care about it and want it to thrive.

Nobody wants to be right about this. I’m not a negative fan, I’m yelling at the top of my lungs the same way I would be if a tidal wave was coming toward the shore. I’m utterly depressed and freaked out about this. If enough people know maybe we can stop it somehow.

To think that anyone would be okay with what this program is right now is beyond me. It’d be okay if it’s all highly rated freshmen that we just need to give time to, like when Larry had Ced and Chris in their freshmen year.

You could see that team just needed a couple of pieces. This team needs a complete overhaul.

The sooner the better he needs to go it seems, even sadder is that who is going to want to come after that is even decent. Set the program back another 4-5 years imo.

I don't care. I've learned to do without it. I haven't even watched the last two games since they are on espn3 only. I will watch again when they are on tv.

I just wish there would have been this much outrage when pastner was here destroying the program. There are posters here that never gave tubby a chance yet the same posters never said **** while pastner ran the program in the ground over multiple years. During this time, the u of m sent the message that basketball was no longer important.

If tubby has a contract that can't be bought out, who's fault is that? Did they not learn their lesson from the last coach?
