RE: 11/30 AAC Basketball Games
to me while tonight wasn't great for the AAC, it was at least passable. I'd be great if UCF or USF had been able to pull out their close game and give the league a 3-2 night, but considering projections had 0-5 very much on the table, it's not brutal.

Temple winning was huge. South Carolina should be a pretty solid win for Temple.

The MWC doesn’t really belong in that group.

Just looking at the RPI's realistically they do. Frankly should add MVC as well.

Also, the MWC helps with the Pac 12 getting them more games.

If I could only pick one sport to be good in, we finally picked the right one. I prefer both, though.

No way Tubby will be back next year if this continues. That only happens if the university has completely given up on bball which it won't do.

In a couple years we'll be good in both sports.

If y'all go 18-13 or so does Memphis fire Tubby or give him another year?

He'll get another year. But 18 wins is starting to look like a tough task.

RE: 11/30 AAC Basketball Games
I feel bad for UCF...they have had some tough close losses vs quality teams and I have to think if the one dude wasn't hurt, they win those games. Stinks. They were in a perfect position to do something in the NCAA tourney this year...they are an under radar team and you know whoever they played in the big dance would take them lightly because they don't have a pedigree and they are really good. Similar narrative to USF in 2012-ish. They were a tough team that made the big dance and then went on a run because teams just didn't take them seriously which was a huge mistake. I knew it would happen, called it in my bracket and it played out exactly like that. They played a unique defense that was stifling and gave teams fits. UCF is like this and you can't even prepare against it because people just do not have a 7'6 dude to practice against.

Is the guy who's hurt out all year or is there a chance he comes back?

From what I understand he should be back sometime around the start of conference play.

RE: 11/30 AAC Basketball Games
I wonder if UCF could duplicate what USF did back a few years ago in the Old Big East where they didn't do much OOC, but then got hot in conference play and went 12-6 and made the NCAA tourney. They were 6-6 OOC with no good wins at all.

UCF could be 8-4. I think if they could get 11 or 12 conference wins, they easily could get in. Might need a win or 2 in conference tourney to cinch it.

The AAC is not the old Big East.

It's not- but look at who USF beat that year.
Rutgers 14-18
Villanova 13-19 x3
Seton Hall 20-12 at selection (NIT)
St John's 13-19
DePaul 12-19
Providence 15-17 x2
Pittsburgh 17-16 (CBI) x2
Cincy 24-10 (NCAA)
Louisville 26-9 (NCAA)

Not exactly murderers row. If UCF can get the easier wins, plus get a couple of wins vs the top teams, given they'll get somewhat of a pass for the injury to Taylor- I think they could easily get in the tourney.

Talk about everything that is wrong with the NCAA Tournament.

This is akin to the banked-in 3-pt shot. They could have just called the game when this happened.

Devontae Cacock for UNCW is an absolute nightmare.

How in the world does a player like that end up at UNCW???

He had 35pts and 12rebs last night. They went to him virtually every trip down the court, and we didn't have a single answer for him. We were lucky to win this one.
