Went into the booth intending to hate myself and vote for a man I've had zero regard for for 30 some years. Ultimately couldn't. Gotta live with myself. Just couldn't sell myself out for a fraud. Voted Johnson too. I can sleep with that.

Trump is not a good person, but he's so far been an average President. His biggest problem is putting his foot in his mouth.

His contemporary, Emmanuel Macron, is under pretty intense heat in France for his missteps. He's like the opposite of Trump in that he's a decent guy BUT his leadership is freaking questionable beyond belief.

Hillary didn't win - so that means America did. I just wish that Trump wasn't the guy who swung the sword.

FIFY, otherwise I agree.

I hate the fact that if you criticize one political party then people automatically assume you support the other party. I hate hate hate this. Here's a scenario that I constantly find myself in:

Me: "Trump is an absolute IDIOT and is not fit to be POTUS"
Them: "You libtard Hillary loving demofascist Obama supporter!!!!"
Me: "Hillary is also an idiot and not fit to be POTUS. And I did not vote for or support Obama
Them: *face just stares in silence and can't comprehend having this thought process

I hate the fact that when I criticize Trump/Repiblicans I immediately have to back it up with "Btw, I did not vote for or support the Democrat party", and vice versa when criticizing Hillary/Democrats...because otherwise I'm (insert opposite political party)

Does anyone else have this dilemma?? I'm pretty darn sure if I created a thread here saying "Trump is a fool" about 99% would assume I voted Democrat. Why is that?

Extreme statements get reactions. And message boards have a lot of far left people disparaging Republicans, conservatives and Trump and the claim they are moderates (which other posts prove are a lie).

I agree that he's not a moron or an idiot and that he sometimes knows exactly what he's doing. He's also quite smart.

I just think he has some weird personality traits and a lack of discipline that plague him and throw his intelligence right out the window.

Those are fair statements.

Same for me and per the op, after years of conservative posts and deriding all things Clintonista and leftist got the idiotic posts about me being a leftist and Hillary voter. Silly ****.

Seen 'em calling you leftist too.

Hard to take anyone voting for either seriously. You aren't if you did.

Edit: I'll change that last to allow for those who voted no fault of their own for the lesser of evils to anyone who strongly supports either.

There were reasons to strongly support Trump. There may have been reasons to strongly support Hillary (with all her lies, its hard to know what she would really do). There were lots of reasons to strongly support the lesser of two evils.

I don't think it's a quirk at all. I think it's a planned, calculated act.

He tweets something over the top about something relatively unimportant and the leftist media and pols completely overreact. People will eventually start to tune them out, especially as the economy improves.

not sure what my phrasing defined that indicated otherwise....

other than me, HoD, and UTSA, I don't remember any other poster being in the Donald's camp (remember "never underestimate the power of the Donald???)

I wholeheartedly agree.....I was only agreeing with his perspective how his 'on camera' alpha personality comes off to many and how it's been misrepresented at times.....certainly you understand how I understand that aspect when making an attempt to prove a point in a handful of characters......

if you go back to when he announced (basically, when I started posting on this board), I made that posit from day one with the exception that, "he is only running to get the RNC up off their collective arses......he quickly realized, **** IT.....I'm gonna have to do this one myself.....he only had nothing to gain and everything to lose"

it was the only option left on the table if one truly wanted another option outside of status quo politics with a postmenopausal crazy ************ at the helm....

personal preferences don't mean shite to me when I'm looking for leadership......

this is business.......that is something I'm certain we all can agree with.....

politics are slowly becoming passe with his tenet........we all knew it was going to take time.....

next year's midterms are going to be YUGE......passing this tax relief platform is critical (especially eliminating the 0'care tax penalty)

edit: I just graded this for the grammar/punctuation nazis.....I think I just took an F- to a C+
