NC State player told me that DD is our guy now. He was excited to pass that nugget and coach along. I’m not breaking anything. I am simply saying it’s what I am hearing. I am turning my phone off for the day. How we NEVER even called Tee...MUST be answered. I am furious...

Man, this really makes me hope DD turns them down.

Arrogance amidst failure and catastrophe.

Reminds me of a certain president.

Never called Tee 'two years offensive coordinator experience' Martin? Wow, this is fun.

Maybe Erik Ainge needs to turn his phone back on.

John Brice‏ @JohnDBrice1

#SEC staff tells me Doeren is expected formally turn down UT. Agent also informs me “Don’t think he wants in that.” Watch Pruitt, Miles, perhaps Sumlin, Leach. Maybe they’ll finally call Tee or Lane?

Is it 9 if Doeren turns them down? Never seen anything like this.

I guess the AD at NC State got the message and got his contract done.

Kevin Sumlin wouldn't be a bad hire. Of course, he wouldn't be a great hire either.

If South Carolina could hire Will Muschamp, then why can't UT hire Kevin Sumlin?

Muschamp in 4 years at UF: 28-21 and 17-15 in the SEC;

Sumlin in 6 years at aTm: 51-26 overall and 25-23 in the SEC. In arguably, the tougher of the two SEC divisions. Keep in mind that Muschamp got to play UT/Kentucky/Vandy every year.

And in the 4 years at UF, Muschamp went 17-15 in the SEC and was:

11-1 versus Vandy/UT/Kentucky
6-14 versus the rest.

And, yet, he was hired by South Carolina.

I am also surprised that Arkansas has expressed no interest in Sumlin...

Sumlin is due $12M in <60 days. I'm not sure he wants the first thing that pops up ? Especially the disaster @ UT. But I don't know the man - maybe the money he can extort at this point in time is worth it ?

That is the biggest issue that would concern me IF we were going to hire him:

How much does he have left in the tank after getting all of that cash?

Everyone forgets how great of a job Sumlin did a Houston, prior to him taking the TX A&M job. He went from Houston, a team that was used to the run-and-shoot style, wide open offense where he had free reign to throw the ball all over the field, to Texas A&M team with a history of running the ball.

Sumlin would do great at Memphis, but he would be a great hire at Tennessee as well. I'm surprised its taken Tennessee this long to consider him.
