Wow. The nuclear meltdown that's happening in Knoxville right now. Clay Travis has exposed the Haslam fraud as well. It's worth a watch if you are bored. There is a civil war on campus right now.

wish some of these folks were as worried about, say, "Nukkular" War, violence, racism and other "uninteresting" stuff , as opposed to the "game" of football.

Fair.

But look I get it. Just to get season tickets to a football game you have to shell out a minimum of $500 just for the right to get one crappy seat. People who spend their hard earned money don't particularly take too well to learning that one family (really one man) gets to dictate most of the important decisions at the university (particularly after having demonstrated colossal failure after another one) simply because he gives a lot more money than everyone else and his brother is the governor. If one person (who wasn't even an employee) was undermining your university at every turn just because he cares only about personal and political wins rather than wins on the field/court I think most of you would probably feel the same way.

Loved football all my life, so I get it too...but, in the South particularly, it has become a way of filtering out all the bad news about your state by projecting strength through your football program.

In Alabama, for instance, you may have poverty, racism and a bitter bitter Senate race, but "WE GOT THE TIDE AND THE TIGERS/PLAINSMEN/WAR EAGLES DAMMIT!!!!"

May make ya happy for a weekend, but none of the "bad stuff" goes away.

Money talks.....nothing new about that.

I’m just glad that Brohm is not going to UT. I can understand why he would and I actually think he’d be a great fit. I think UT needs to go to an offense like Brohm’s to compete in the SEC. They aren’t ever going to be able to slug it out with the Bammers and the Auburns and the LSUs and the Georgias or the Floridas of the SEC. They won’t be able to toe to toe those guys. IMO. But if they could take that kind of spread to the SEC with the level athletes they can get I believe it’d be successful. But that’s just my opinion. Might would be an epic fail if he tried it there.

Living 22 miles from the Tennessee line I’ve had to put up with many Voles fans throughout my lifetime and they are every bit as arrogant as UK basketball with actually less reason to be.

So I’m happy they continue to fail. Screw the Vole state. Screw the Vole nation.

the state of Tennessee (like Arkansas and Kentucky) has mediocre H.S. football, so they have traditionally recruited well in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. They need a corch who has ties to those areas, and I thought Brohm fit the bill. Not too sure that the NC State corch has ties to those areas (but all SEC programs are looking for their own Nick Satan, who was an outsider), and he just might be a disaster, like their last 3 or 4 or 5 corches!

Tennessee, as a state, now produces top 10 number of 4+ star recruits.

Really? So who exactly is combing Tennessee for players? Like finding a needle in a haystack to find ANY former Tennessee H.S. players on Bama's, Georgia's or Auburn's 2017 roster, and they are right next door.

UT is getting most of them. Like I said, they are producing a top 15/20 recruiting class every year and that's with knuckleheads leading the program.

According to 247 (2017 #s), state of TN has (2) 5* and (11) 4* HS football players listed. In comparison, MS has (1) 5* and (5) 4* HS players. AL has (3) 5* and (11) 4*.

While no FL or CA, I would have to agree with Lightning that TN is producing decent HS football players.

I've known folks in both KY and TN who wear their arnge hats in foosball season, and Cayat hats in the winter.

RE: Jeff Brohm to Tennessee?
Evidently it was a done deal until some schmoe from UT leaked it to the press. According to a UK radio sports talk show, Brohm was furious and now the deal is in jeopardy. He supposedly wanted to wait and tell the team himself on his own terms.

Also, his buyout was 5MM unless he waited until Dec 1 (I think it was Dec 1) and then it dropped to 4MM.

RE: Jeff Brohm to Tennessee?
Who would have ever imagined that the University of Tennessee football program wouldn't be able to hire away a coach from any, let alone all, of: Duke, NC State, Oklahoma State and Purdue, all while getting trolled by a coach at a CUSA program.

What would be rock bottom? Brady Hoke turning down an offer to remove the interim tag?

So, here's the deal with Let Miles. He is calling everybody he knows in Knoxville to say that he is interested in the job.

But Haslam won't even acknowledge his interest. Again, for Haslam he wants a yes man just like his puppet AD he put in place.

This is why the UT fan base is revolting. Could have had Gruden. Could have a national championship coach in Miles but you have one person that has the power and influence to f it all up.

Gruden was not coming, ever. Anyone that seriously thought that was delusional. The problem I have with Gruden is that he acts like a dramatic teenager and never had the courtesy to dispel all of the rumors around him and the UT job. Acted like a complete troll and fed the fan/media frenzy.

That said, it's incredibly concerning when Greg Schiano is your top guy. Equally concerning that the UT job is such a **** show that not even Ok State's, Duke's, Purdue's, or NC State's head coaches want a job. Can't imagine Kevin Sumlin falling on this grenade, since he'd just be moving from one idiotic fan base to another.
