No biggy. I'd hit the "ignore" button. That's even easier than hitting the back button on your browser if you find yourself in a thread of no interest to you.

RE: Can we get a dedicated basketball forum?
To be a little less reactionary, I would encourage people starting new threads to use the little basketball or football icons while naming the thread. I just looked at page one, and while I didn't do a hard count, my guestimate is that there are between a quarter and a third of the threads where the title is at least somewhat ambiguous. Using those designators would be helpful.

If people would use them that would help too. But there is still no way to search just basketball topics. (Like I was unable to find a way to sort all cusa by freshman stats)

But, we have the important dedicated forums for Smack, Media Center and Ticket Exchange. (lol)

RE: Can we get a dedicated basketball forum?
if we had a bball forum, it would end up like the other dedicated forums...some people would post bball stuff in the bball forum. others would post them in The GBM Forum, because they dont want to go to 2 different places.

So, even if you just wanted to read bball threads, youd have to go to 2 different pages if you wanted to read them all.

From a personal preference - I like having everything in one forum. I rarely read the other forums on this board. I understand what you are saying if you don't care about football. If we had hundreds of threads per day, I could see us getting there. As it is, I would vote for keeping everything together.

RE: Can we get a dedicated basketball forum?
The Smack Forum exists to exile yammerheads when they start to ruin a perfectly good thread.

I look at the Recruiting Forum from time to time. I all but never open any other forum. If you actually open those forums and look at the dates of the posts, you'll see that they go virtually unused.

This one gets Blazer Athletics and at least loosely related stuff.

I'm sorry that it is such a burden for you to find the basketball posts.

If we had 2 primary forums, basketball and football then it should be fairly easy to distinguish.

But apparently 17 people think it would be a huge burden and drive them to tears.

Then we could have a 3rd forum for people who want to congratulate the bowling term or post highlights of volleyball or something equally laughable that 95% of us don't want to see.

It could be easy to allow posters to change the category if they were in the wrong one.
I'm surprised more than 8 people don't agree with me.

I prefer reading about all UAB Blazer Athletics in this forum. We are all used to it. Before this, there was the Dragon's Lair, if I recall correctly.

It is a HUGE burden and its driven me to tears several times. Shouldn't university's strive for inclusion?
LOL
Sarcasm aside, I think it would make the place better for everyone.

But apparently the mere thought of 2 different forums, like most athletic message boards have, is just too much for you and 16 others.

And I certainly wouldn't want to inconvenience you all by making this a better place. (Sarcasm came back, can't help it.)

I can understand that too. I just thought more would prefer them to be separate. But this is Alabama. We elect pedophiles as long as they thump the bible.
