Well as of now, Lunsford has only fired Cook (QB/OC), Zo (DL/DC) & Chandler (S&C), he hasn't announced releasing any other assistants.

New Hires:
DL - Carbal
DC - Sloan
QB - ?
OC - ?
S&C - ?

Decent of paper, plus he knows HS programs north of ATL which we abandoned under Tyson. Like with the last hire I was not feeling I am holding my breath until the UMASS game next year. It will be very telling how this is all going to go.

Ask the rest of the SBC how they did on offense vs App St the past few yrs (especially secondary and red zone)?

Scott Satterfield and Willie Fritz seem to be Chad Lunsford's coaching mentors. I'm guessing we'll have multiple guys from both of those staffs.

We seemed to handle it okay in 2015...

Sloan will stay at App through the DG Bowl.

Well duh. Most assistants have it in their contract that they don't get bowl bonuses if they don't coach the bowl game. Keeps coaches from poaching a staff early.

Happened to us in 2011 when Freeze left. Old AD had never really thought about bowl bonuses, and allowed Freeze to hire half his old staff here when he went to Ole Miss, and let them all walk before the bowl. Left us with 4 coaches on staff for the bowl game. Had to actually go out and "hire" High school coaches to come in and work with us for 1 game to get the team ready.

It was a disaster of a game not surprisingly.

The DC is the DC for me and he was not the DC. Rowell was not getting hammered for our DB woes Zo was so why does Sloan get all the credit and not Woody? Who knows how much is him and how much is the actual DC Nate Woody. Maybe App fans have some insight. A good D line can make the DB's look better, App fans could tell us more.

ULM just put up 52 points 356 passing yards and three TDs so who was that on?

I'm of the opinion that ULM's offense might be that good. I guess we'll see in 2018...

If ya can't beat 'em.... Seriously though, Scott is an outstanding person, family man and coach. Can't blame him for taking a DC position at all. Stinks for App beecause not only are we losing a good coach & recruiter, but the Boone community is losing an outstanding family. I kinda had a head's up to what was going on and spoke to Scott & Stephanie after the Louisiana game. It was a bittersweet moment and both were very emotional after the game, but when opportunity knocks at you door ya gotta answer. I appreciate what he did for our program.

I've been told Lunsford's focus right now is focused on putting together a solid staff than recruiting. There's the Feb signing date and lots of good players still out there.

Getting a cohesive staff is very important. The Belt is better with a good GS team. The App/GS rivalry is much better when we are both good teams
