Willie Fritz was probably one of the smartest and most technically sound coaches GS has ever had.

I'd love Monken's intensity, eye for talent, motivation, and player development mixed with Fritz's program management. We basically had that in 2014 (that team played like Monken was still lighting a fire under their ass) and we saw the results.

On and off the field. He improved on the field the record by one this year and is killing it recruiting now for all the doubters get it in while you can...wont be long.

Not if Lunsford is going to go with who he knows, unless him and Matt Barrett bonded in 2014 and 2015 expect more Army than Fritz.

I dont think with the players we have now we go back under center, I also dont think TK hires CL if his intent was to go back under center.

Matt Barrett might not be the only one from the Fritz line that jump at this chance.

We should hopefully know the answer to this question by Sunday.

Victor Cabral comes back to be defensive line coach. We've missed his recruiting since he left after 2013.

I do now as well just the wrong guy. Sounds like we will have a HC that had never been a HC now 2-4, and OC that has never been an OC and a DC that has never been a DC....I mean I know you have to start somewhere but about as risky as it gets with no proof of any success at all three of your big positions but par for the course lately with TK.

but the names I've heard for OC and DC are current coordinators though.

he's been recruiting for them since 2012, and doing a pretty dang good job. They also had a top 15 defense in FBS 2 out of the last 3 years. He's been around for a while and I think he is a pretty solid hire.

I meant as a DC you can judge a guy if he is in the same role. Some guys are better position coaches than coord some guys are better coords than HC's.....We should know.

RE: GS Staff 2018
Sloan is the architect of our red zone defensive scheme as I understand it. Our red zone defense was #1 in the nation in FBS in 2015. However, I'm not sure how much say he had in the overall defensive scheme. He is also the coach of one of the top secondaries in the Sun Belt for 3 years running, as well as one of our top recruiters in the state of Georgia. You'd be getting a good one, if true. I've seen GS fans speculating that you would make the move to the 3-4 under Sloan. I think the 3-4 is more Nate Woody's doing than Sloan's, so I wouldn't be so sure about that switch, but I could be wrong.
