You are on to something.
It started innocently enough....take a Claflin to mellow out, DII style.
But then, a victory over Claflin didn't give us the same 'high' as it did a year ago.
So we are now we are hoping to get the same victory 'buzz' we did with Claflin last year by taking a 'toke' off of Greensboro College, D III style.
But what happens when D III doesn't 'do it' for us, what then? Prep Schools? Women's Teams? Church League JV Teams? ("After all, they won't hurt our RPI")
No, no, no - it's time to go cold turkey. Give up the Clafin and everything it leads to,and do what Division I teams are supposed to do - play Division I teams!

What? What? You take a few Claflin and the next thing you know you start justifying beating up those weaker than you....as long as it doesn't "hurt your RPI"...

I don't know how that team ended up last year, but they came out fighting against the Hawks. That wasn't a bad team at all.

My Dad went to Grad School at Kent St (he witnessed the Kent State Shootings in 1970), so that field actually excites me a lot. Definitely a road trip for us 2 in the making.

Loyola-Chicago downs #5 Florida 65-59.
Undefeated on the season save a 87-53 setback to Boise State.

That is a nice win. Does absolutely zilch for us, but they look like a solid program already this year. Hope they build on that success and do great things.

RE: UNCW Basketball Schedule
Florida is ranked Number 5, but they're 111th in the RPI. I'm sure they were way worse the 5th in RPI before playing Loyola-Chicago. Florida's last three games and next two games are against five teams with only 3 losses combined. Then they host James Madison.
Loyola-Chicago is off to a great start, but the Missouri Valley is better than usual, and as shown by Illinois State winning 20 of their last 22 games before Selection Sunday and being snubbed, no team from outside the top six conferences can be an at-large lock (maybe Gonzaga as an exception). None of Loyola-Chicago's 8 wins (7 vs. Division I) are against teams in the Top 100 of the RPI. Five of their nine Division I opponents have a winning percentage under .300. Their out of conference strength of schedule is 270th, which is much worse than Illinois State's 126th last season. The Missouri Valley being better this season could make up some of that gap, but probably not all of it. If Loyola-Chicago splits their last two out of conference games (losing at Milwaukee who's 100th in the RPI), goes 15-3 in the Missouri Valley (which will be hard considering they have the fourth best RPI in the Missouri Valley), and goes 2-1 in the Missouri Valley Tournament, they will be 26-6 vs. Division I on Selection Sunday, which is the same as Illinois State was last season.
