Lane Kiffin should stay at FAU for a while, win championships and have a stadium and statue in his honor when he retires. His other option is go back to a bottom dweller P5 team(Like Tenn), fail again and look for another mid major job.

He certainly behaves like he does not (for now) want a job at the ivory towers. Sooner or later, a big P5 school will be desperate enough to come calling. We'll see what happens then.

As much as i dont personally care for him, he brings some attention to the conference ( sometimes good sometimes bad ) kinda like Bobby Petrino did with WKU

I think TN and AR are desperate enough right now.

Arkansas is going after Gus Mahzlan...I see Lane going to Oregon after Taggart goes back to Florida St.....Lane would be a great fit for Oregon....As far as UT goes, I bet they make the safe hire and grab Tee Martin...

Like him or not, he has gotten this crappy conference more press this season than all others combined. Every good show has a either a great villain or a comedic foil. He plays both roles. It's good for all of us as long as he is not cheating...and I do not think he is.

The one that still confuses me is McElwain. I haven't paid super close attention to the situation, but I feel like there was something behind the scenes there. I don't see how a guy wins 10 games his first year, 9 games his second year, has two SEC division titles, and then gets canned for falling 1 game under .500 halfway into his third year. I just don't get it.

They were trending downward and their offense was atrocious. Those "good" seasons are a bit inflated because the SEC East has been awful for years. Once Georgia jumped them (jumped wayyyy over them), McElwain was in trouble.

There are probably 10-15 jobs in the country that, if you finish .500 or worse, the coach is going to be toast regardless of any other circumstances.

Sure would be something if Mahlzan went to ARK and Lane replaced him at AUB.

I just cant fathom Gus leaving AUB right now though.
