President Trump is a genius.
IMHO, Trump is not a genius for taking swipes like that when he is supposed to be honoring the service of these Navajos. I believe people who want to see the swamp drained and bipartisan cooperation (i.e. the majority of us) will be turned off by it. If he makes Warren look bad by doing this, the victory will be Pyrrhic.

I get it that he's trying to burn it to the ground. However...Pyrrhic. On a personal level Trump is not well liked by a large group of people - most clearly by the independents who are the only ones who are actually up for grabs. As long as the Dems continue to operate in the mode that they are today...he can burn to his hearts content and keep getting 1st and 2nd degree burns as he doles out 3rd degree burns to those he's scorching.
IF he cannot deliver those good quality middle class jobs, IF the stock market gains become more tepid, IF that inevitable corrections comes in the near future, IF a Dem figures out how to change the tone in order to appeal to independents, IF we fall into another recession due to challenges in the world economy (hint: China's economy is built on a house of cards)... any combination of a small number of these "what ifs" and Trump will be toast.
If the economy roars and we don't experience multiple acts of terror on our soil...none of this will matter. NONE OF IT. That means the swamp isn't getting drained either... I'm highly cynical that the swamp will ever get drained tbh, but at least Trump "appears" to be trying (when he's not rigging policy to favor his holdings)...

too many points you addressed there in that response.....
however, "yes" to the majority of your points (the market has already absorbed the hype....so, yes.....again, fingers are still crossed)
disclaimer: ~1 mo. ago I would've shorted on a 30 day play if I was younger...I was wrong on that one.....
the next few mos. are going to be very interesting to watch play out.....

RE: Trump, honoring Navajos, revives 'Pocohontas' jab at Warren
If anyone deserves to be put in her place it's Warren, but these kind of jabs are beneath the office of the presidency imo. Doesn't mean you have to sanitize your message, but stick to tweeting stupid s*** when it's really funny (e.g. half of his Kim Jong Un material). Hopefully the South Asian Indian running against her for Senate gains some traction, though there's no chance in hell he wins in Massachusetts.
RE: Trump, honoring Navajos, revives 'Pocohontas' jab at Warren
I fully admit...I LOL'ed my ass off when I saw the clip on TV. Then Warren was stupid enough to respond. I feel total breakdown coming from Fauxahontas.

Senator Udall (D-New Mexico) "This moment in history won’t overshadow the contribution the Code Talkers made and continue to make to our nation. But at what should have been a solemn ceremony to honor Native veterans, Donald Trump took low even lower."

I'm sure the American heros whose sacrifice he was there to honor really appreciated his hamfisted attempt at belittling a political opponent in order to score points for his political base.
I'm sure that no politician you've ever supported belittled one of their opponents in order to score points for their base.

Way to purposefully ignore the actual point being made, but then again you've never been one to argue in good faith.
This was a ceremony for the patriots people who actually suffered and fought for this country. This wasn't about Trump, his opponents, sticking it to liberals, or whatever bullsh*t tribalist nonsense you want to place on it; this was about THEM. Trump couldn't even give these actual heros that much respect.

Don't think so, the most I've ever seen estimated for her is that she's 1/32 Cherokee. For comparison sake, I'm 1/8 (great-grandmother was Potawatomie) yet even this Jewish kid from the St. Louis suburbs who could count the number of times I've been to the reservation on one hand is four times as much of a Native American as she is.

I guess the moral of the story is that it's okay to be racist or disrespectful as long as you're making a joke about it in the process. Something to keep in mind, NFL players who sit for anthems in the future, okay?
Worked for Redd Foxx years ago in Sanford and Son and it works for Donald Trump today.

Excuse me Shirley? When you're willing to say "His insults to an opponent insults the honor of American Hero's" in one moment, and you're not willing to admit the politicians you support do the same thing...

Excuse me? His real family name is Drumpf. The family changed it sometime early in the 20th century or late in the 19th century. To be fair, that's a pretty common thing and it's possible Ellis Island changed it for them (they did with my family with my dad's Polish unpronounceable name being shortened to Sanders).
But until he builds a Drumpf Tower, I'm not sure your claim is correct. The Snopes page below is decent reading.

You've ignored this twice now in order to deflect to the notion that I've supported other politicians when they act as badly all without providing a single example. You're wrong, I don't, and if you provide an example of me supporting a candidate using a veterans ceremony to belittle their political opponent, I'll gladly admit it. You won't, because I haven't, and even if I had, in no way, shape, or form does that have any bearing on the unacceptable nature of Trumps actions here.
You going to actually address the topic of the thread now, o[/b]r are you going to try to deflect the culpability of the President for acting the way he did by pointing to some guy on the internet?
