Have mercy on 49er fans. None of them wanted this. They have raised hell but the administration does not care about any of them.

The AD's conversation with Lambert was probably something like this:

"We don't really want to fire you but we've got to get some of the boosters happy. Either you fire some of your staff to show you're trying to correct the problem. But if you don't fire them we will fire you and everyone else"

This is completely sad. What in the world is Rose doing over there? Who is going to come work for Rose and Lambert now? If and when Rose finally gets rid of Lambert the entire staff will change again. There is 0 job security here for any of the existing coaches or new personnel coming in. Awful

I'm literally praying the Board of Trustees meeting tomorrow is to hand Judy Rose her papers...probably won't happen but a man can hope.

This is a disaster. We’ll draw 5000 to the Rich next season. We’re fighting blindfolded with one arm behind our backs.
On a positive note, you’ll only have to win five games to bowl next season if you’re the East, USM or UAB.
We’re like the free space in BINGO.

That's the EXACT same conversion that was had with Jeff Bower in '07...he said "no" and the higher ups said "bubye"

Rice tried this last year with Bailiff.

We fired our DC, Safeties coach, and QB coach.

Bailiff is now gone. Good luck with it.

The Charlotte board and the people who know over there say he is signed though January 15, 2020 or through them 2019 season.

Wow! I guess since they don't have the money to buy out the rest of the contract, they fire everyone but the Head Coach!
Oh Charlotte, you held some much promise but have squandered your FBS status away.

In all seriousness, what did they expect when they tried to fast track a ground zero FBS startup?

FBS doesn’t matter Lambert sucked in our first two seasons as a FCS team playing against non-scholarship schools. See the success a lot of other startups are having now.

What I came here to post. Lambert's got to be on a white-hot seat, so unless you think you can impress the powers that be into taking the job in a year from the OC or DC spot, why put yourself through another bad season and then a probable job hunt when the new guy cleans house?

That’s not the problem. The problem is the administration and AD mailing it in thinking we would be a complacent fanbase with little to no effort on their part.
The product is boring and has been since day one. Throw in terrible repetitive play calling, poor discipline and just general sloppiness and it’s been frustrating to watch.
The talent gap with the other CUSA schools hasn’t been bad since 2015, but it’s like they’ve never watched a second of game tape
Lambert has a had a game plan work exactly once (thanks USM) and his
“Aw shucks, I just wish some of this hard work in practice would translate to games” postgame press conferences are so stale.

Because our athletic director honestly, until today, thought everything was fine.
