RE: 1st Team All Conference Picks
I am sure that by finding specific cherry picked stats just about any notable player can make an argument to be included in either one of the two all-conference selections. Here's an example: FAU's QB, Driskell, frequently an afterthought as a passer in the FAU offense, nevertheless, has second best QB efficiency rate and the top completion percentage. He, however, does not deserve to be mentioned in the all-conference selection conversations.

I agree with your assessment. I think you make an argument for about anyone. In fact, if I had to pick a QB this year that would be 1st team All-CUSA it might be UABs AJ Erdely (for his dual threat stats) but that will not happen. QB will go to Mason Fine or Mike White imo but that's just a guess.

I hope I don't sound greedy, but we have one of the best o-lines in the conference, and at least one should be first team. Most of our backs can avg 5 yards a carry behind these guys. Even the walk-ons. Just saying.

Chris Schleuger will be on there somewhere and maybe some additional players. Its pretty crazy to think that UAB is bringing that entire oline back except Schleuger.

Picking olineman was tough. Will Hernandez (UTEP), Trey Martin (Rice) and possibly O'shea Dugas (LT) were shoe in's for me. The others were shots in the dark.

No biggie. I'm not sure I could narrow it down to just one out of our group. The group as a whole has improved this season, especially with pass blocking. That is one tough position to pick, for sure.

He was easily our best player and should be all conference.

Offensive POTY: Devin Singletary (SO) - Running Back (FAU)
Defensive POTY: Marcus Davenport (SR) - Defensive End (UTSA)
ST POTY: Trevor Moore (SR) – Kicker (UNT)

Offense
QB: Mason Fine - UNT
RB: Devin Singletary - FAU
RB: Jeffery Wilson - UNT
WR: Thomas Owens - FIU
WR: Korey Robertson - USM
TE: Deon Yelder - WKU
OL: Will Hernandez - UTEP
OL: O'Shea Dugas - LT
OL: Michael Montero - FIU
OL: Trey Martin - Rice
OL: Antonyo Woods - FAU

Defense
DE: Marcus Davenport - UTSA
DE: Brian Womac - Rice
DT: Anthony Rush - UAB
DT: Kevin Strong Jr - UTSA
LB: Tevin Crews - UAB
LB: Azeez Al-Shaair - FAU
LB: Chase Hancock - Marshall
CB: Darious Williams - UAB
CB: Brad Muhammad - FIU
S: Ben DeLuca - Charlotte
S: Nate Gaines - UTSA

Special Teams
K: Trevor Moore - UNT
P: Kaare Vedvik - Marshall
KR: Isaiah Harper - ODU
PR: Darrell Brown - ODU

Ben DeLuca might argue the point about being the best player for the 49ers. I by no means am a punting expert but Vedvik had the best overall average. Yannis Roustsas (UTSA) was the only punter form CUSA to be a Ray Guy semi-finalist.

Hart did pretty much everything Vedvik did, but did it 32 more times than him.
This is like saying a running back that had a 5.0 ypc average in 200 carries was better than a running back that had a 4.9 ypc in 320 carries.

This.....Hart is good and will likely punt at the next level.

It always is. While we have SOME stats for OL-linemen as a unit, there is no stats that could be contributed to any single OL. So, you have to pick and choose. But you do have some abstract things, like the ease of running game, like QB's relative safety. But, again, that applies to entire O-Line

I highlighted the picks I got right. Fine Won OPOY but Singletary won MVP. Since I had Fine as 1st team QB I'm calling that a win. I had no idea CUSA was going to give (4) DE's the DL awards otherwise I would have had more.

04-cheers
