Do the logistics work or is there a risk of being late to the game or late back to the boat?

Stephen Strickland‏ @Stricklandlaw

The logistics work. Stadium 15 minutes away. But if you do not have a passport, you do not want to miss cruise departing so if game goes into several outs, you might have to leave ar some point to play safe.

Cruise departs Bahamas at 6 pm. UAB game should be over about 3:30. Takes 15 minutes to get from game to ship. Factor in traffic. Leave game no later than 4:45 pm to play safe.

Very tempting. Somebody posted that if you're doing the cruise, you would only need a driver's license and copy of birth certificate.

Same here. It’s extremely pricey to get there from the Midwest.

Bahamas Bowl starts at 12:30 EST = 12:30 Local Nassau time. Still should be doable on the cruise.

https://www.allegiantair.com/ - Chattanooga to Orlando-Sanford for $150 RT, and the timing is right for the cruise. In on the 21st at noon, leave for home on the 24th at 3:30 p.m.

LairDweller / GrammarNazi - Allegiant flies out of Des Moines to Orlando-Sanford for >$210 a leg

Got it even better - St. Louis to Orlando $180 RT on Allegiant and it meets the cruise times.

Very risky. My wife and I went on a carnival cruise for our honeymoon a couple years ago and we did not get to Nassau on time because of a storm. I can’t remember how late we got there. It could work but you are on the ship’s time. Also I’ve heard that the stadium is in a bad part of Nassau so be careful in getting rides from the port to stadium and vice versa.

A travel agency in Birmingham, Travel Planners, put together a package for $1163/person which includes airfare, 3 night stay at an all-inclusive resort (Riu Palace), and airport shuttle both ways in Nassau.

thanks...i actually have frequent flyer miles to cover the trip, i was just stating how expensive it is from my local airport (not that this affects anybody else here--so its pretty irrelevant).
for me, the limiting factor is trying to get others to cover my work shifts. im closer, but not sure if i'll get there

Wow. $950 per person just for the airfare. That's double what we were able to get our flights for.

Very expensive. I'm sure some of that is the various receptions they're throwing at Atlantis and the game.

Yeah. Also has the advantage of being a direct flight. I'm going to do it just to have this experience in this historic season. Any other season this whole bowl would be a little too pricey for me.

That's what I'm assuming. I couldn't find any commercial flights that were direct on the 20th.

Chartered, with escorted travel to/from hotel, to/from game, attendance at 3 receptions/events during the stay. Its a pretty good deal if you have the time/$ to take advantage of the opportunity.
