Basketball statistics question
I know that Scootie is not the only freshman in CUSA that is having a good year. But I don't know of a way to compare them all statistically.

Is there a site that will let me search all CUSA freshman on one screen?

I know it seems like Tech always has a good freshman guard. (2 last year). Its good that we have an impact freshman. We need to have them more often.

RE: Basketball statistics question
The only way I know of without searching each teams statistics is to compare who is winning freshman of the week. I was kinda surprised Bryant hasn't won it yet.

RE: Basketball statistics question
Also figure out which teams start a freshman player & focus mainly on them.

Both ways are too much work.
Id bet there is an obscure site somewhere where you can search like that. But we just don't know of it.

RE: Basketball statistics question
Currently there are 3 CUSA freshman in the top 25 of CUSA in scoring. Bryant, along with Jackson & Wallace at UTSA. Bryant is 15th in CUSA in scoring. Jackson & Wallace are 14th and 23rd.

Easiest way I've found is to go to espn.com under NCAAM. Then go to stats and sort individual stats by conference. I had to click on each player's name to see what class they are, but it's actually pretty quick.

RE: Basketball statistics question
Yeah, I did a few manually last night. I found 6 guys all averaging more than 10ppg.

UTSA has 2 guys. WKU has 2. Marshall has a pretty efficient scorer in West.

The leading scorer is UTSAs Jackson who also played the fewest minutes in 21.8 mpg.

WKUs guys are both killer 3 point shooters in 45.5-46.2%. West is 41.4% and scootie is just 33.3%. But his overall fg% is 2nd only to West.

Of course, non conference and conference stats can vary widely.

But it seems Scootie should be in the running for the all freshman team.

WKU freshman Hollingsworth, who we were after heavy, has the most minutes of the 6 freshman and a pretty impressive overall stat line.

UTEP freshman Gilyard, another UAB recruit, is playing a lot but is struggling with as many turnovers as assists. (not included with the 6 others)

La Tech freshman and also a UAB recruit, isn't playing or producing a lot. But he has a lot of upperclassman ahead of him who are pretty good. (also not included)
What impresses me the most about Scootie is I guess you'd call it poise.
He plays like an upperclassman with several years D1 experience.

Scootie's performance thus far stands alone. UTSA's is misleading because they have no choice but to depend on newcomers.

From what I've seen Tay Hollingsworth and Scootie are a cut above the rest. Imagine if we would have landed him ...
