Lots of rematches, most of which were pretty one-sided.

This time Auburn has two fewer running backs. Could be a difference. Auburn may truly be upset when Georgia/Bama are playing in the CFP but they sit at home (i.e, play the Miami/Clemson loser in the Orange Bowl with three losses.)

Sun Belt has a quasi-title game.
Troy @ Arkansas State on ESPN2 at 6:30 central. Winner gets a least a share. If Louisiana-Lafayette can win at Appalachian State, then it becomes winner takes all.

Just because the first one was one-sided doesn't mean that team wins again.

First time:
UCF 40 Memphis 13
OU 38 TCU 20
FAU 69 UNT 31
Toledo 48 Akron 21
Fresno 28 Boise 17
USC 42 Stanford 24 (edit-previously had score reversed)
Auburn 40 UGA 17

Only 2 aren't rematches and only Fresno-Boise was close.

RE: Conference title games
I wonder why so many are scheduled at 11am? ESPN is basically competing with itself in that time slot with 3 overlapping games all on ABC/ESPN networks (plus a FOX game). Then ESPN/ABC has no games in the afternoon 2:30/3pm window and then competes with itself again scheduling 3 games all on its own networks in the 7pm prime time window. Seems like odd scheduling on the part of ESPN/ABC. Why not move an 11am and a 7pm game into that 2:30 window so you arent diluting your own audience so much in those other 2 windows?

Love the timing of these games. Considering watching the MAC/American/XII games live then driving down 3 hours for B1G title game after they’re over when I otherwise would’ve never given it a thought.

Why would we be upset? We have 2 losses. If we don't win the SEC we're out. That's part of the deal. Beat 2 #1's and win the SEC against another top 5 or top 6 Georgia. We're 2/3 through it but, we have to finish it.

RE: Conference title games
Which is the more interesting matchup, Toledo-Akron or FAU-North Texas? According to ESPN it's the former, both games are at 11 CST but the MAC gets the ESPN while C-USA gets ESPN2 (of course, while going up against AAC on ABC and Big 12 on Fox as well). First time in a while that the MACC isn't on a Friday night.

RE: Conference title games
Vegas odds (with O/U):

Clemson -9 1/2 (47 1/2)
Oklahoma -7 (63 1/2)
Ohio State -6 (53)
USC -3 (58 1/2)
Auburn -2 1/2 (49)
Boise -9 1/2 (49)
UCF -7 (84 1/2)

The over/under on the UCF game IMO is why many fans may devalue UCF's performance this year. That doesn't scream "championship caliber defense" for either team. Just like with the USF game. But those games sure are fun to watch.

RE: Conference title games
UCF's defense is fine. 19th nationally in points per play allowed (i.e. efficiency). They limit foes to 1 point for every 18.9 yards allowed, which is 12th best nationally (in making the other team earn it).

It's just that USF and Memphis are REALLY good on offense. Both have senior QBs.

USF has scored over 30 points in 26 of its last 28 games. And Memphis may have the best offense in the country this year.

RE: Conference title games
There are 8 computer polls that:

1. Got all four playoff teams right every year
2. Identified the correct G5 rep every year

These polls clearly value the same things as the Human Playoff Committee.

Three of these polls were used in the old BCS (Anderson-Hester, Billingsley and Colley Matrix).

Here is this week's ranking by the Computer Committee, with color-coded title games in bold:

1. Wisconsin (1.5 average rank)
2. Clemson 2.8
3. Georgia 3.1
4. Alabama 4.5
5. UCF 5.5
6. Oklahoma 7.5
7. Miami 8
T8. Auburn 8.4
T8. Penn St 8.4
10. Ohio St 9.6
11. Notre Dame 10
12. USC 10.3
13. Washington 13.4
14. Stanford 14.4
15. TCU 15.1
16. Michigan St 15.5
17. Memphis 16.6
18. LSU 19.6
T19. Northwestern 20.1
T19. Washington St 20.1

Twelve of the Top 17 teams in the nation going at it this weekend with a ton on the line. Awesome!
