Detroit—tickets on Toledo side?
When we try to purchase tickets for the MACC game using the link from the UT athletics site, it isn’t clear that our seats will be on the “Toledo” side, and it won’t let us actually choose a seat. Given the seat numbers it is referencing, it appears that they are general admission seats on the “visitors” side of Ford Field (at least when the Lions are playing)...but I thought Toledo would be the “Home” team?
We’re buying 8 seats, so really want to ensure we aren’t on the Akron side. Can anyone shed some light or make me feel comfortable buying seats? Thanks in advance!

Toledo will be on the side the camera points at.... If thats the visitors side? So be it. But its an NFL stadium with good views from all angles.

Thanks! Do we presume that if we buy tickets on the MACC ticket side from the UT link that those tickets will indeed be on the “Toledo” side? We want the $20 sideline seats but the seats the MAC site wants to sell us now look more like the end zone?
I guess we haven’t had much experience buying MACC game tix...

RE: Detroit—tickets on Toledo side?
everything seems to indicate Toledo will be the visitors for the game. I haven't seen that spelled out, but it is billed as Toledo vs. Akron everywhere I have gone. The first team named in that type of match up is usually (or always) the visitor.
Not sure why they don't make this simple for fans to buy tickets. Best bet is to buy them through the University of Toledo. Looks like they go on sale Monday morning.

Toledo is the 'Visitor' side. UT isn't going to seat you with Akron. No way.

I’ll try stopping at the UT ticket office tomorrow. Just don’t trust the MACC ticket web site since it has no clear direction as to what side you will be on for sure...

You should be ok with the MACC site if you can find a way to tell them you are from Cleveland but want to sit on the Toledo side and heckle their fans... They'll be ok with that.

This is what the UT ticket website says when buying tickets:
Quote:The Rockets are headed to Detroit! Tickets will be located behind the UT Bench in Sections 123-131. Orders placed before 5:00pm on Tuesday, Nov. 28th will receive priority over those ordered afterward. Rocket Fund contributors and Rocket Football season ticket holders will receive priority seating locations over the general public. Seats will be assigned based on donation and season ticket history. ALL TICKETS WILL BE PLACED IN WILL CALL FOR PICKUP. Instructions for ticket pick up will follow on your confirmation email. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the UT Athletic Ticket Office at 419-530-GOLD (4653).

RE: Detroit—tickets on Toledo side?
My history of Ford field is fairly expansive for a 23 year old non Lions fan.
I have attended 2 MCB's (UT vs BC, UT vs UConn), 2 LCPBs (BG vs PITT, UT vs FIU), 1 MACC (BG vs NIU 2015), and 2 Lions vs. Green Bay games.
The team with expected better crowds have been on the visitors side each time. Toledo vs. UConn featured Toledo as the home team and placed our spread out crowd on the non TV side, and placed UConns packed 8000 covering the visiting bench on TV which worked out well.
WMU was also on the visitors side in 2016.

It looks like about 780 tickets have been sold through UT so far. Hopefully we sell a ton more.

RE: Detroit—tickets on Toledo side?
Thanks again for your assistance, all! I went to the UT ticket office in person and purchased my 8 tickets--much better communication in person than via that MACC game web site. Love the fact that I can pick them up here in town as early as Wednesday and not have to go to "will call" at Ford Field on Saturday.

is the whole alumni package available at the ticket office? Is it the one by the GB or in the basketball arena?

I went to the ticket office at the basketball arena. Since I was buying 8 tickets the alumni package was a bit to steep for my wallet, so I didn't inquire, but I believe that you can also order the alumni package there at the athletic ticket office, but it may be worth a phone call to the alumni association before you make a trip there? Contacts there are Ansley Abrams-Frederik at 419-530-4316 or Shirley Grzecki at 419-530-2586.

I would have expected more, especially with the Big Ten Championship not being until 8.
