I would say it is a contributor in regard to the "War on drugs".

The problem goes deep. It starts with the break down or total lack the traditional family unit... and goes steadily downhill from there. When 65% of black children are born out of wedlock? We have a fcking major problem with morality, responsibility and simple fcking judgement. We have a couple of entire generations of young black kids without fathers and without guidance. We are reaping the devastation of this daily on the streets of every major city. The Black market drug trade and its inherent violence are destroying our youth and our cities day by day.

How did we get to this point? Do you believe the conspiracy theories that the U.S. government actually allowed drugs to flow into the country to fund South American wars in the 80s?

The breakdown of the family is linked to the implementation of the Great Society programs. That started long before any of the conspiracy theory timelines. Instead of lifting up working people, it instead warehoused people, without jobs, at densities that were unsustainable and fostered this breakdown as well as crime. It is government at its most awful.
