You seem ok with having a bad coach...

Gary Patterson went 6-6 his first year at TCU. Saban went 6-5-1 his first year at MSU. He went 7-6 his first season at Alabama. Dan Hawkins went 8-4 his first season at BSU. Its too early to tell how good Applewhite is. Give the guy a chance to grow as a coach and build the program.
Saba went 9-2 his first year as a head coach. He had won a national championship prior to coming to Bama, so he had earned some leeway
Hawkins had been a head coach at a lower level of college football amassing a 40-11-1 record
Patterson is your exception. He was a Broyles finalist at YOU so his pedigree was a bit higher than Applewhite.
For all of these examples though, I bet you can find just as many coaches with a decent first year that completely collapsed
The only one who comes to my mind is brady hoke with Michigan, but other than that i cant think of anyone.

John Jenkins went 10-1 and ranked top 10 his first season

Oliver isn't going to transfer. He'd have to sit out a year. After next year, he's going pro
True! But if he plays for us he wont get drafted high. If he transfers to a school with an actual coach he will have a shot at being the #1 overall pic.

LOL... You so full of it.
Everyone knows how talented he is... Doesn't matter what this year Houston results are, he will be drafted high.

I dont think he realizes how ridiculous of a comment that was. We have 7 defensive players in the NFL as we speak. 2 of whom were taken in the first round and another who went in the 2nd round. And as good as some of those guys were for us, none of them have the name or talent the Ed has. Ed's practically been a first round lock since he was a freshman in high school.

If I'm the coach I wouldn't play him much any more this season... If he gets hurt his stock drops dramatically... Why risk it.

Not only that, he thinks Ed is going to sit out a year, effectively giving up a year of NFL money? I think he'd be eligible just by not playing, which would hurt his draft stock. I don't think he thinks things through before he posts. Amazing lack of critical thinking.

I think things through i just think its possible he transfers. Besides the fact that he wouldn’t lose a year by transferring as you don’t actually have to play to be nfl eligible you just have to he attending school. But im the one who doesn’t know things right lol? Also as far as hurting his stock junior year clowney says hello.
More likely he wont he try to play to avoid injury just like clowny did which is just as bad as transferring, at least for us it is.
But like you said what do i know your the one who apparently kicks it Tillman and vists him every game and knows everything.

Applewhite won more games than Herman did this year. Herman choked that game away tonite losing to Tech Once again UT has recruited the wrong, average QB. If you are a QB rejected by UT then there is probably a good shot that you will be a stud. Baylor's QB is better than Ehlinger and he is a 3 time UT legacy on both Mother and Father's side. Yes 3 of Charlie Brewer's direct relatives played QB at Texas but UT picks Ehlinger

You are so delusional. Ed will play, that's what he does. You think he would RAISE his stock by not playing a whole year? Wow. He's not transferring, despite your weird fantasies to the contrary. Clowney played injured his junior year, you dolt. He didn't sit out to avoid playing with a certain coach, which in your fevered dreams, is what Ed would do if CMA is coach next year. Do you live in reality? I think I just answered my own question.
I have spent zero time with Tilman, you claim to have bent his ear on CMA firing timetables (60%!). My intel is that you are wrong, if not outright fibbing. I just know he sits in a place different from what you read on press releases. If you are a fan, you're the worst kind of Debbie Downer type there is. There's a reason you post over here, and not on any mainstream Cougar boards. Likely because you would be called out more. Unless you use a different alias, which is weird and deceptive. I wish you well on your Pancho Villa journey against our current coach. I wish for the best so our team is better, you wish for the worst because that's what you do, for some reason.

Well actually it was never proven that clowney was injured and he still went #1 overall, so you have to think why would ed oliver risk injury for a bad coach? Not to mention i wasn’t even the one who originally suggested it might happen. Im just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if it did happen because applewhite is that bad.
As far as other cougar boards i didn’t know there where other ones but ill be sure to make an account on them very soon. I only found this one because of a random google search.
I actually don’t wish for the worst i wish we would wake up and hire a good coach. Im tired of my coogs always being mediocre and having the good year be the exception.
