This would be a fun trip even if UAB is likely to continue the thanksgiving woes.

Oh here we go, Davis now was gonna get us on probation. And how sure are we of this? Why did we not end up on probation afterwards. Davis fixed the main thing which was Apr and now we was gone be on probation cause of him, unbelievable.

You are completely delusional, Mrs. Davis. Your husband contributed greatly to the APR problem and was not the one who solved it. Remember your son being academically ineligible as well as several of his teammates. I believe it was 4 in one day.

I'm the delusional one but you call me Mrs Davis, hmm. Anyway if I remember correctly Davis got the Anderson guys to come back when they didn't have to. Yes that happened in 2008, what happen 2009-2011 bet you have a short memory to that show some numbers.

RE: UAB selected as part of the 2018 Advocare Classic
In the interest of Blazer Brotherhood, I'll point out some similarities between Mike Davis and Jarod Haase while at UAB:

1. Both brought some pretty highly rated guys to UAB. Vaden, Sharp, Brown, and Lee were all rated 4 star players by at least one service. I believe Lawrence Kinnard was the only 4 star signed by Anderson at UAB.

2. They both came very close. The run under Davis when we got ranked by beating Cinci and Butler was as good as any in the regular season under Anderson. The run in the CUSA and NCAA tournaments by Haase equaled or bettered 3 of Anderson's 4 post-seasons. At different times during their respective eras I thought we were very close to breaking through.

3. When they did get UAB close to breaking through, both guys and their teams BLEW IT!. They both had chances to elevate our program and couldn't make it happen. Davis could never beat Memphis or win a CUSA tournament game. Haase had one great week but otherwise couldn't beat anybody decent when it mattered. Unfortunately, his protege is continuing that legacy.

Bottom-line is neither got it done, on the court or in the stands, and we're still waiting for somebody to pick up where Coach Anderson left off.

people talk about Haase's great week, but was it really great?
in the first CUSA game, he beat WKU by one point in the final seconds...
in the 2nd, he needed OT to beat LaTech
in the CUSA tournament, had two subpar games, JUST beating teams he was supposed to beat (then rolling past MTSU in the finals).
Obviously, the Iowa State game was a huge win...but that doesnt make a great week. it makes a great day. but we were inches from not even making it to that day...twice

We hadn't won an NCAA tournament game in a decade or a conference tournament since Reagan was in office, so it felt pretty damn great to me.

Was The Great Alaskan Shootout the last tournament UAB actually won? Not counting conference tourney or Bartow/UAB Classics.

I’m not saying the game in Louisville wasn’t great (it was)...
Just saying he gets credit as though the team played great for a week, and they didn’t

Judging by these boards, it was the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona in 2007. Three days that displayed the true coaching genius that is, was and always will be Mike Davis.

Davis couldn't even keep his own son eligible. They also had to put Coach Marsh's son on scholarship to try to raise the APR.

Well we can hang our hats on the Cayman island classic, or CBE hall of fame classic, Emerald coast classic, Battle 4 Atlantis, Charleston classic, or South Padre invitational.

Which means he fixed it 03-drunk what happened 2009-2011?
