NIU CMU Predictions
Less than 24 hours until kickoff and no prediction thread?
I will start it off:
Huskies: 27
Chips: 24
It is time to end the losing streak to CMU. CMU gives up a 2 yards a game more rushing than passing. I see a heavy does of Huff and Harbs (I hope over Jones).

That was the reason for predicting this! hahaha. Seriously though , this is how I see it, Huskies have a good first half, up 13-7 at break ,head into the locker room and see Toledo is going to win, and come out uninspired in 2nd half get down 24-13, score a later TD and go for 2 and fail to cut it to FG difference

RE: NIU CMU Predictions
If the Huskies use Huff and Harbs effectively, we win easily. If we decide to air it out or play Jones and Mister, we lose a winnable game.

RE: NIU CMU Predictions
Both opposing coaches have likely said this week": run the ball and stop the run.
Easier said than done. Against WMU we could not run the ball effectively the first half but reversed the situation second half.
Many times field position and wind dictates whether or not teams throw the ball as often as they like to run the ball. One complements the other.
Coaches wanna win. They will do what they believe gives team best chance to win - running at times , passing at times or both
One scarey season stat is CMU has 29 take aways on fumbles , nearly three per game.

RE: NIU CMU Predictions
I thought that too but our defense is too tough. If we can eliminate the secondary gaffes, we are extremely tough to score on and I have to believe that Huff and Harbs will get a ton of carries today. I’d love to see them in the same backfield.

Off a little on the score, but I think I captured the game flow to a T

MD02, I give you credit and acknowledge I was wrong. While the score was wrong, you did capture the essence of the game. Congratulations and I'm sure we'd both be happier if you'd have been wrong.
I was in Denver and watched the 1st half on TV. I left for the airport to come home and was confident. Followed the 2nd half on my phone. As I sat on the plane during boarding in my NIU gameday shirt, a couple of folks walked by and asked if I knew the final. I sadly had to pass the bad news on.
