As an attorney, I would not attack any other attorney based on clients that he may have represented. To do so misunderstands greatly how our legal system works.

I could not vote for Moore, nor for Jones, if I still lived and voted in Alabama. But I wouldn't hold this against Jones. I've represented clients whose views I did not accept or support. So has most every other lawyer.

Not stated in the article, I don't believe. I doubt it was a public defender case. But either way, I wouldn't put much stock in it. Attorneys routinely represent clients with whom they disagree, and representation does not imply agreement. I have a friend who was a former law partner with Jones. I'll see if he knows.

The point is you cant play it both ways. You cant claim moral high ground for prosecuting the kkk without also being equally evil for defending the kkk.

it's absolutely fair game. jones is running hard on prosecuting the KKK; its central to his campaign. the fact that he defended that same group of miserable racist bastards is absolutely relevant.

it may make lawyers uncomfortable when they are held accountable for their records, but it's the way the rest of the world works. no exceptions.
