They have to be in the team picture, right? I'd say the 06 Temple team was worse but they were independent even though they played a heavy MAC schedule. Maybe a Buffalo team, but boy was this Cardinals team was garbage.

Obviously there are teams that finished worst, but in my opinion, its the worst team of all time.

Ball State is going to be much improved next year. They had to play a ton of freshmen this year due to injuries and some of those guys look really good. Also, Neu is a great recruiter.

To regularly get beaten by 40 in your conference games is shocking. To be that far behind teams that are on an even playing field (basically) with them doesn't happen all that often.

Even those EMU teams that we buried all those years played the other Michigan schools tough, at least. Ball State didn't compete with anybody this year.

did not start as worst in Sept nearly beating two win U of I (likely winless in BT after this week) but injuries decimated BSU.

Is this year's UI team among their worst? ALOT is due to playing many true freshmen and sophomores and few upperclassmen.

NIU seems to schedule UI in uptick years and not down years. A win over UI any season would be another Huskie benchmark.

NIU has so far surprassed Illinois in terms of program, that one game means nothing. The two programs are not currently in the same galaxy.

Illinois should stock up on very easy non-conf until they get their program back near respectability. Currently ranked #110 in FBS

It's the worst Illinois team I can recall since I started following them (so, roughly, 20 years). When you're playing Big Ten games where basically half your starters are true freshmen it's not going to go well.

Beckman/Cubit left a bad roster, no usable QB, and there's basically no senior class to speak of. It's going to take a lot of time to fix, especially since Lovie only has 1 recruiting class on campus right now (the true freshmen that are playing all over the place). Most guys in Year 2 would have 2 classes, but the timing of the hire prevented that.
