I wouldn't bet on it but there's a better chance of that happening with Sumlin than Briles.

I'll take him at Temple, even if he and his wife created the fake racist letter.

RE: Would Houston take Sumlin back?
Sumlin would kill it recruiting in the AAC.

Texas A&M had better be careful what they wish for. They have run off every successful coach they have had in the past 50 years. At some point, expectations need to meet reality. Sumlin wins 8-9 games a year sharing a division with the likes of Alabama, Auburn, and LSU and recruits top 15 classes every year. Hell, they ran R.C. Slocum off the job and that dude won over 70% of his games and never had a losing record in 14 years. A&M must think they are a blue blood. 03-lmfao

Sooner or later firing a winning coach will bite them in the ass.

RE: Would Houston take Sumlin back?
Sumlin is a good coach but I wouldn't take him back. I'd hate to see him go to another AAC school though because he'd win.

Aggies are pretty dumb so it doesn't surprise me they're gonna fire Summie. I get that they're upset because HOUSTON has more wins over LSU since the breakup of the Southwest Conference than the Aggies but LSU, Alabama, and Auburn are simply better programs than A&M. They just don't know their place.

Sumlin + a good DC would kill it in the AAC. A&M is delusional.

Details?

He left us the week of the Southern Miss championship game. He went jogging with an Aggie regent and no-showed a practice. He quit on the team so much that during that debacle of a game, down by a ton, he called for a punt in the second half. Case called a timeout, went to the sideline, and could be seen visibly yelling at Scummie. We came out of the timeout and went for it.

We were undefeated at the time. A win over USM would have put us in the Sugar Bowl vs. Michigan.
