Exclamation CFP refusing to rank USF. Here’s your reason.
Can’t go letting UCF have two more wins against ranked teams. Granted they beat Memphis again. But yet LSU is ranked, after a 30 point loss to Mississippi State and a loss to Troy. #sham

If USF did get ranked and then lost to UCF they would definitely not be ranked any more, so we wouldn't get a ranked win from them either way.

I do think they should be ranked and UCF at least top 12, so I agree with the sham part

UCF is 3rd in S&P+ which I'd argue is the best computer ranking, because it evaluates play to play and doesn't screw teams because they aren't in a top flight conference (it adjusts for competition well). They are every bit of a team that should have an opportunity to prove itself at the highest level and proof the system continues to be a scam to protect the P5.

When your best win is over the 86th best team in the country, all you can say with any confidence is that you're 85th. I would love to see us with 3 ranked teams, but S. Florid does not deserve it.

Tulane - at 5-6 - actually has two better wins than that!

South Florida SOS sucks

Some of it is our own conference but scheduling San Jose State and Illinois wasn't exactly a boost to the SOS

South Florida doesn't deserve to be in. I hope UCF destroys them so we can finally end the conversation.

Yep, and their SOS is being propped up by UCF's #11, which they haven't even played yet. Remove them and go off their current resume, and their SOS is >100.

Interesting that Boise's strength of schedule is stronger than UCF and Memphis. I think playing Washington State, Troy, and even Virginia OOC helps this. It does not appear that the AAC provides the needed bumps. All G5 teams need to schedule up OOC, if possible.

Forgot all this analysis of strength of schedule, sagarin ratings, etc. The people making the decisions are a bunch of old coots walking round wearing Big Ten/SEC/ACC gear. That's all there really is to it.

They don’t even have USF schedule right. They played ECU which isn’t even shown. Not it would have helped them but just saying.

Yes it has UConn twice, missing ECU

UConn 108
ECU 109

Doesn’t really make a difference.

McMustache tweeted it’s because s. florida has not beat a team with a winning record. Can’t argue with him. As nice as it would be for UCF and the conference, they aren’t impressive to the eye test or on paper.

And yet if USF beats UCF and Memphis, they will leapfrog Boise.

Probably true. But what do you think the odds of that happening are?

In fairness, Wisconsin was supposed to play at USF this year.

Three of Boise's OOC opponents have far exceeded expectations (Virginia, Wazzu, Troy). Meanwhile, our OOC opponents have all disappointed. The AAC schedule for UCF is harder than Boise's MWC schedule. Additionally, a second crack at Memphis would give us another top 20 game.

UCF and Memphis are also weighed down enormously by FCS games. Had UCF not rescheduled our canceled FCS game, we would actually have a better AVG opponent strength than Boise's, ever so slightly.
