I think he does take it places he shouldn't sometimes, but overall he's a pretty good voice of the Tigers.

My favorite Chuck Roberts moment was a few years back at Memphis Madness. They brought back some "celebrity' judges to judge dunk contest. Most of them were former Tigers and he gave them elaborate intros. He got to Thaddeus Young and he called him "The incomparable " Thaddeus Young. Another was during the Redbirds final few games this season. Literally every half inning it felt like he was screaming on the PA "COME ON REEEEEDBIIIRD FANS, Its Time For a Redbirds RALLLLLYYY". He did this every inning from like the 5th til the game went extra innings (11 I believe). Never seen someone at a AAA baseball game get so fired up

RE: Chuck Roberts
It isn't just his fake enthusiasm, which in small part he is paid to do...it is his interrupting style, over explaining a simple free throw trip with a full loud silky voiced explanation instead of John Smith shooting two.

He takes too many liberties, is a felon, and has little business representing our university, there are other PA announcers who do not interfere with the action. The breathless in ceasing screeching at fans to get excited for the pizza giveaway was more than many could take.

Let alone his screeching for excitement over a Tiger spell out, before he walked off with the quick plug for Chick Fil A sponsoring that cheer. Before he nearly passes out promoting the Chuck Hutton shirt cannon, the greatest ever!

We get the need for sponsors and appreciate them. Very much actually. But this cheese as well as the ad promoters lose all sense of proportion. The best media breaks were when the band simply played...no screeching interference, or when the poems did the slower dance routine, again uninterrupted by the felonious screamer.

My favorite Chuck moment was when he mistakenly called Pastner, “John Calipari”. You know that had to upset Mr Passive Aggressive.

I’ve known Chuck a long time. He’s a decent guy that screwed up. That said, the time out promotions during the basketball games are horrible. Please just let the band play.

RE: Chuck Roberts
Felony fraud is not screwing up. Let's be real here. It took planning and a mind willing to be corrupt, taking advantage of people who trusted you.

Forgetting to walk the dog is screwing up. Even more serious mistakes like forgetting a seat belt is screwing up. Even having a singular affair. Drinking too much. Eating too much.

He may be a friend, but he did way more than just screw up. And it has been heavily acknowledged that the ads are annoying in their own right, but at both football and basketball the felon makes it much worse.

Should NOT be representing a public university.

Purely aimed at the felon and not you...people defend their friend and paint the best light. This turd cannot be polished though.
