RE: Brace yourselves, Brittany is back
I see the media on the right trying to push this story. It may get some traction locally, but I don't think that its going to garner much national attention.
The fact that they are trying to push out such a story suggests that Moore is more vulnerable than their camp would like to suggest.

RE: Brace yourselves, Brittany is back
I am most concerned with how the Alabama Republican party leaders seem to troop around Moore's banner regardless of his past history - and I'm not just talking about his sexual history. His homophobic dogma, if endorsed by state voters, may do a lot of PR damage to this state economically (EX: that automobile assembly plant Alabama is trying to attract). Virginia has already voted a similar politician down in their recent elections.
Moore's anti U.S. Supreme Court rants may remind too many Alabamians who remember George Wallace's 1960s White Supremacist rants fondly and wish to turn back the clock socially today.

Moore is saying that I may be a pedophile, but Jones is worse. He is a lawyer. Problem is that
Many Alabamaians will agree with him.
Moore is a lawyer too

But he is not the anti KKK lawyer like Jones whose early ads reminded voters that he prosecuted the KKK bombers of the Baptist Church. Lately, Jones' ads have been more anti Washington ("Washington is broken") to more closely resemble Moore's ads. He just doesn't promise to "drain the swamp" a la Trump.

RE: Brace yourselves, Brittany is back
Knowing full well I am participating in the complete derailment of this thread, I will say this:
I find it amazing that Doug Jones gets so much media love for prosecuting a klansman, yet Jeff Sessions got none. But I digress.
When I first saw this article, it was like I stepped into a time machine. I still have a copy the ESPN magazine (in a box, somewhere) that broke this story. I was I think a junior at UAB when it hit. There were no good guys. Not the players, not the coaches, not the administration, and I will even say not the girl's parents. A 15 year old in college is just a stupid idea. But, man, leave it to the current environment of politics, sex, 24 hour news cycle and social media to dig it back up. 'Merica...

Agree, no good guys. I don't want to victim bash, and I won't, but I never understood how her parents left her full time in an adult coed dorm at age fifteen. That's doubly true when you consider that they lived in Chelsea. Lots of people live in Chelsea and commute to work in B'ham.
No way in hell I'd have left my fifteen year old son there.

You have a lot more insight than her parents did

I covered that case (Michael Donald). Sessions definitely wanted a conviction and pressed for it, but he wasn't the courtroom prosecutor (that was Chris Galanos, a DA rather than US Atty). Jones was for the Sixteenth Street case (which was tried after he left office, so he was available as Special Master). I'm sure it's happened but I can't recall a serving US Attorney working hands-on prosecution (as this was in state court, he wouldn't have anyway).
A closer analog would be the Bob Rudoph case, the piece of **** who murdered uniformed Birmingham police officer (and UAB alum) Sande Sanderson. Jones pushed the case, but Sally Yates (yes, that Sally Yates) was the prosecutor. Jones should get credit, as Sessions should, but Yates actually nailed the bastard.
We have this principle in American politics that we can only have blood enemies, Golgothan-level walking piles of **** like Ray or Junior incapable of chewing gum they didn't steal from an infant. I dislike Sessions personally and politically, but he did his job professionally. Same for Jones, who I know and like, but you can disagree with his politics and still allow that he's good at his job.

Since Roger Schuler was fired by UAB he has rarely had anything positive to say about the school or anyone connected to it.
Sometimes he is on point, as when he was one of the first to publicly print accusations regarding Gov. Bentley and Rebekah. Sometimes his accusations get him in trouble, as when he lost a million dollar libel judgement.

That's going to take a whole lot of clicks on a website to cover

He lost his house and moved out of state. Got crosswise with ex-Gov. Riley and his family.

she was placed in the female only dorm then UAB dropped the ball and moved her after she had been in school a little while

Deep down I feel Roy Moore will probably win, but I saw a Doug Jones for Senate sign in front of a single wide in Chilton County this weekend so I honestly don't know what to think

People may vote for Roy, but you sure don't see many Roy Moore signs in people's yards.

The way I recall her story, she originally enrolled after the Christmas break and was assigned to that female only dorm and an upper class "mentor" to watch over her. Everything was fine until that summer -- perhaps the "mentor" went home for the summer session -- and someone moved her into a different dorm without anyone shadowing her activities. The next things heard were that she had become sexually active with several athletes which is not an uncommon phenomenon on university campuses. Her parents found out and pulled her out of UAB, and she disappeared from the gossip pipeline though the scandal lives on.
