You really attribute the poor defense to new rotations?
You don’t think it’s because of the coaching staff completely ignoring defensive fundamentals? It’s the same exact problems as last year, regardless of who is on the floor

3pt defense was a problem during the Haase era, too.

I’m surprised we are playing Iowa for last place.

Iowa lost to Louisiana-Lafayette and to South Dakota State.

Just like UAB, Iowa won their first three games against cupcakes.

UAB played much better this evening, but really let it get away early in the second half. It was an amazing comeback to send the game into overtime.

I do. We've been torched early in the season two years in a row -- Furman and Buffalo. Both of these teams were experience and projected to win or compete for their respective conferences when we played them. Last season our 3-point D got much better as we continued to gel with out Nick. This season we have even more new pieces and things are still coming together. Their ceiling is high when they start playing as a unit.

The unfortunate thing is we don't have time for them to gel if we want to compete for an at large/good seeding. Playing in CUSA means we need to have a nearly flawless season to have a shot at the NCAA outside of rolling the dice in the CUSA tournament.

Very rare for a team to make up a seven point deficit with one minute and thirty seconds left on the clock.

We also got torched by a very young Richmond team.
If you thought we got better as the year went on last year, you saw something very different than I did.

We got better early, as we adjusted to life without NN. Then got worse as we continued to not play defense, which other teams exploited

Outside of Lee,Cokley, Perry, and Bryant IMHO everybody else is ....... I mean if Hurtado just can defend he needs to play. We could use size in the post and on the perimeter. We could use some guys really geared up play defense ( Like Goldwire and Barnes guys as recruits they made a name for themselves defensively). Maybe keep Gueye out on the perimeter for his athletic ability and see if there's anything there defensively. Actually use the guys he recruited as HC.
