Possible for UCF vs St Johns in the Advocare Invitational and UCONN vs Depaul in the PK80.

But hopefully not since both are likely to only happen if UCF/UCONN lose.

I can see UCF/St. John's both going 1-1 and meeting in the 3rd place game.

Really hope UCONN can beat the ducks and avoid Depaul. But very difficult in a road game.

RE: 17/18 AAC big east challenge
i see a 1-4 record for the AAC here. Maybe 2-3

WSU vs Marquette - WSU should win that. If not the Big East should sweep those 5 games

UC vs XU - Going to lean towards Xavier here since it is at Cintas and UC hasn't won in Cintas since 01-02. Both teams are top 15 and should make for a very entertaining game but I gotta go with the home team in this series

Temple vs Nova - Nova will handle them easily

UConn vs Nova - Again I don't see Nova having any problems with UConn

Houston vs Providence - Should be a good game. Leaning towards Providence in this one.

Rivalry games are a different breed. Nova @ Temple and Nova @ UCONN may not be as easy for Nova as you predict.

Temple easily already beat 3 bubble teams
Basketball is always better team wins..."Nova" will handle them easily is a far stretch

UC is also top 12 in the nation and Xavier is unranked

You have to be a big east fan for these projections

Xavier is 15 right now. Could easily be a top 10 showdown

RE: 17/18 AAC big east challenge
Things you'll see at every Crosstown Shootout

- XU will hit one or more of the following: a half-court shot; a deflected three; a banked three
- Some guy at X who can't buy a bucket all season up to the game will go off and score 5/6 from three and knock down 24 pts.
- We'll get the obligatory playback of the brawl in 2011.
- The announcers will talk about how great of a program XU is, talk about them being a Jesuit School, etc.- meanwhile their fans will chant "F* UC" in the background and throw blue paint towards the UC bench (usually hitting the coaches family).

This one is going to be a great game. UC handed them their lunch last year, but XU has dominated the series the past 20 years (UC still has a big edge all-time in the series).

There is also a chance SMU and Nova could meet this week in the Bahamas.

Nothing organized. Just AAC and Big East that will meet or might meet in these early season tourneys

Yup. Nothing organized but there have been calls for AAC/A10 or AAC/MWC, the obvious and fitting challenge is AAC/Big East. Should be formalized and make big $$$ for ESPN.

Besides not wanting anything to do with us, the Big East is with Fox, which makes it almost certain that it never happens.

Well duh. But they make it work for other conferences, something could be figured out.

You apparently do not follow college basketball. X is #15. When they meet up with UC both teams have the potential to be top 10 or just outside.

Temple is a middle of the pack AAC team. ( don't think any of those 3 teams are projected to make the tourney so that theory is flawed)

UConn is a dumpster fire these days.

Houston and Providence should be a good game.

LOL. Will this finally be the year UC cracks the Sweet 16 or does another Harvard stand in their way?

UC and XU should be entertaining as usual.

Temple looks much better than a middle of the pack AAC team. Nova may win, but Temple certainly has a chance, especially at home.

UConn is an enigma for now. They have the potential to be very good but still have a lot to prove.

8 years ago when temple was relevant in basketball. They've been a sub-par program for a few years now.
