WSU vs Marquette - WSU should win that. If not the Big East should sweep those 5 games

UC vs XU - Going to lean towards Xavier here since it is at Cintas and UC hasn't won in Cintas since 01-02. Both teams are top 15 and should make for a very entertaining game but I gotta go with the home team in this series

Temple vs Nova - Nova will handle them easily

UConn vs Nova - Again I don't see Nova having any problems with UConn

Houston vs Providence - Should be a good game. Leaning towards Providence in this one.

Big 5 is unpredictable.
8 years ago when temple was relevant in basketball. They've been a sub-par program for a few years now.

We went 21-12, 14-4 in the AAC, and won the regular season title two years ago...

That was their best team in a while and still got routed by nova

Not a real thing. Just a collection of randomly signed games against the BE that were signed by individual AAC schools. We have no official early season conference "challenge" against anyone.

But hopefully not since both are likely to only happen if UCF/UCONN lose.

Every year is different and every year players graduate and new players become prominent. Just like a couple of years ago when Temple finally beat PSU in football after decades of failing to do so. That's why you play the game. It's not decided on public opinion.

If public opinion was all that mattered than Patrick Ewing's Georgetown team would have beaten Villanova for the championship but they didn't.

Temple easily already beat 3 bubble teams
Basketball is always better team wins..."Nova" will handle them easily is a far stretch

UC is also top 12 in the nation and Xavier is unranked

You have to be a big east fan for these projections

LOL... Of course he is

XU is #15

-but it wouldn’t matter -when Cincinnati and XU play it doesn’t matter who’s ranked and who’s not ranked. I’ve seen unranked Xavior take down #1 Cincinnati twice I’ve seen an unranked bad Cincinnati team beat a ranked Xavior team that ended up in the elite eight that year etc.

In rivalry games it doesn't matter what the rankings are

RE: 17/18 AAC big east challenge
Started out with WSU getting the big first win against Marquette. Couple of tough losses by UCF and Cincy. Temple with a massive opportunity by Temple to pull it back to 2 a piece. Not much hope of UCONN knocking off Nova. Gotta get this one tonight if Houston is to have any hope of bringing AAC the title this year!

It's UCF's fault if we lose the challenge this year.

Huh....don't know why ECU didn't get a AAC vs Big East game.....maybe out invitation got lost. Sadly, I think ECU and Tulane and USF is the reasons why these conferences don't want challenges our conference.

Tulane has played St John's 2 out of the last 3. I would say a majority of our alumni are from/live in Big East territory so they have no problem scheduling us, we just suck and our previous Coach/ad scheduled cupcake opponents to camouflage their incompetence. Hopefully we'll be seeing more Big East and ACC games in coming years.
