RE: Updated Stats
I'm shocked ... *SHOCKED* ... UNT is not in the top five defense.

Looking at these stats it's easy to see that we some serious improvement on defense. Hopefully the kids, the kids red shirting this year, and a few incoming freshmen can help things out. We really missed our defensive tackle Bryce English this year due to his injury. He should be a force in the middle next year.

Well they have moved up to 11 in the conference. A few weeks back they were 13th, only above UTEP.

The best two teams in CUSA are FAU and UNT who happen to be 10th and 11th in total defense. Obviously, defense doesn't move the needle in CUSA.

You mean "shocked" as in you are shocked because you thought they would do better than that this year? Or "shocked" because you think that they should be top five right now?

NT95 is probably just shocked because you didn't sense the sarcasm.

Well, with "some" UNT fans, you never know and he's relatively new, therefore the request for clarification. Now piss off.

Down here, at FAU, we do all things differently. We grab a whole bunch of turnovers and don't play conventional defense until the opposing offense enters our red zone. it's been working so far...

RE: Updated Stats
How does UTSA, as a team, do on turnovers? otherwise, I can not explain having a positive 120 yards per game balance between offense and defense and not having more than 6 wins.

Haha, that or you guys are wrecking teams so bad they become one dimensional and are forced to pass which causes more turnovers.

I bet you're fun at parties.

Jeff Wilson went to have a doctors consultation today. We're not hopeful. Could be done for the year.

Very well actually. Two players have 3 picks each. UTSA has two players in the top 3 in forced fumbles.

The losses are really about not being able to close teams out as evidenced by the scores. They can drive the ball on offense but simply find it difficult to score TDs.

Your comment checks out.

UTSA is 60th in the country for offensive yards and tied for 48th in the country for Red Zone Conversion percentage.

However, they are ranked 123rd in Red Zone TD percentage and 114th in the country in number of red zone attempts.

Yeah, it's been a frustrating year. The 4th quarter generally hasn't been our friend, and not being able to punch it into the end zone has hurt us, as our Red Zone TD scoring percentage is a paltry 47%. We've forced 20 turnovers though and conceded 16, so we're decent in that category.

This right here. Our defense is Swiss cheese until the opposing team enters the red zone. Our secondary seems to be aggressively going after picks and sometimes letting solid coverage come second. It has changed in the past few week however.

When you have an up tempo offense who gets off the field fast, the other team usually has more offensive possessions.
