CMU at 8-4 deserves a warm weather bowl. They earned it.

If we end up sitting at home this year, I think most of the blame sits on the coaches. We didn't do what we needed to with healthy roster and it bit us in the ass. As someone else said in another post, the Idaho game should have put up red flags galore, but instead of being a wake-up call, it was another shrug from Smilin' Tim.

Quick Lane payout is $1.2 million. Not too shabby.

ESPN controls 99% of the bowls I would look at their projections above others. FYI... The Bahamas Bowl did offer Ohio about the same time this latest ESPN projections came out.

Is that per team or divided by 2?

Also i believe the MAC mandates all bowl payouts be split. Or is that just the Access bowl?

RE: WMU Bowl Chances
I looked at the ESPN article.

Should we be concerned that WMU is only mentioned in 1 bowl? Other MAC schools are mentioned more than once.

WMU and UB are the only 6 and 6 teams.

Who travels better? I would guess WMU...based on our home attendance. Granted we have more fans closer to Detroit (our likely bowl location).

Sorry, I have been a bad poster in the eyes of some. I will try to be intelligent with my musings...this year was extremely taxing. I likely had unfair expectations and I am now coming around to reality, and the fact that we were decimated by injuries.

I'm not confident our fan base would show with any kind of numbers, even at Ford Field.

Granted, they/we should, but the reality is the air is out of this team's balloon and has been for a while.

I think we were mentioned in two...Quick Lane and the one in Charlotte...

Would there be any leftover 6-6 Sun Belt or CUSA teams looking for a bid? If so, they will get any desperate at-large south of the Mason Dixon line over us.

Feels like it’s Detroit or nothing for us.

We really have no business playing in the post season. But if we wind up in the QL bowl I’ll probably go see it, barring a snowstorm.

Yeah, I'm torn on this one. We need the extra practice time for the young guys but I really have felt for some time that 6 - 6 teams should not be bowling. If I was in Michigan, if we got Detroit, I'd probably go, though.

Season not what I'd hoped for but I'd go to Detroit without question.

The Detroit bowl was fun against Purdue. Granted Carder was always fun to watch.

Jordan White was a beast in that game!

He had an amazing game. That one-handed catch!

Jesus. This Husthe Belt projection has us in Detroit vs. Oregon with the Ducks favored -26. Please God no.

This same “model,” such as it is, has Wisconsin -11 over Clemson in a CFP semifinal, (The actual line would be somewhere around Clemson -7.) And Alabama -11 over UCF in the G5 access bowl (Woild be more like Bama -21)

In other words, it’s a joke.

I don’t see us getting Oregon in Detroit, but if we somehow did I would literally take out a second mortgage on my house to bet WMU +26. Another poster in this thread correctly mentioned level of interest as a big factor in who wins bowl games. Oregon would sleepwalk through that game, as would any PAC-12 school forced to fly across the country during holiday break to play a bad MAC team in a minor bowl game in freaking Detroit.

Another bowl projection i saw had us playing in North Carolina vs Wake Forest.......A team that lost a few close games to good teams, that would also be like a home game for Wake Forest.

No thanks.......In all honesty, I hope we pass on a bowl game, we would get embarrassed and Tim would be sitting there smiling saying "HAHA, theyre a good team! We just couldnt do much about it! HAHAHA"

"We need the extra practice time for the young guys" AND our Broncos playing in Detroit can be a HUGE benefit in recruiting SE Michigan.

Detroit or bust for me, personally.

Makes no sense for us to go to a bowl game in North Carolina.

I'd say we owe it to our senior class, but that's just me.
