Tulsa will always be podunk because that's the nature of private schools. We have several Tulsa-clones in Wichita in Kansas-Newman and Friends University. Private, podunk schools always get superior ratings because the environment is akin to home schooling.

Don't you have some fields to plow? Your school is a glorified community college with a couple decent majors attached. Wichita will always be podunk because it's in Wichita, Kansas.

I bet adding the technical schools raised your academic profile.
By now Wichita State has firmly labeled itself as a "tech" college with the massive aerospace research wing and now Innovation Campus.

I'd put them in similar categories: guys who can with with other people's talent, but not their own. Haith just doesn't know how to coach defense and his offensive scheme can be figured out pretty quickly, so unless he has some quality talent that can make up for that fact, he doesn't do well. I've been negative on him since we missed the NCAA in his first season. We need to grab a new coach and our AD needs to not be involved in the search. Too bad Haith's contract is the largest we've given any of our coaches and we probably won't be able to buy him out AND afford a new guy.
Monty still has a chance to turn things around. He needs to improve his recruiting on the defensive side and get some new defensive coordinators. Skipper can be a good QB with the correct molding, and we know that Tulsa's offense can be prolific. I expect the team to make a bit of a jump next season. If they can't, I could see Monty being gone.
Why do you want Haith out when he's gonna lead Tulsa to a Top 3 AAC finish?

It's heartening to see Tulsa fan showing up on a Monday morning full of piss and vinegar. If I were them I would be hiding in a cave with a bag over my head.
