Well..........we *were* playing the Hornets tonight. (Sorry!)

I'd rather laugh about this than fight. I meant no offense. I hope that we get through the year keeping to basketball.

The women have done remained in the locker room as well. And without the ROTC color guard, we didn't actually have a flag that I could see. The video boards were showing flag graphics, but not the same for me.

And I'm glad that I'm not the only one that felt like they didn't have it quite all planned out for the pre-game this time. I figured they would just build on last year somewhat, as it had become pretty good at getting the crowd moving. Maybe they'll have things more sorted after the next few games? And the DJ this year needs to pick better songs during timeouts. Maybe we can come up with a playlist and sneak it to him? My husband has threatened for a couple of years now to volunteer to be the DJ. Maybe I should encourage him. LOL

I was also glad to see the student section with a decent crowd, especially with a lot of students already heading out for the holiday. They have a bit to go when it comes to excitement, but the guys in the wigs were entertaining.

THIS

He doesn't quite yet have the swagger of Ge-lawn, but that drive and passion seems to be there. He seems to be pretty good so far about knowing when to drive it in himself, and when to share as well.

Like everyone else, loving seeing Peter have some awesome play. He has worked very hard in the off-season and it shows. I'm also with everyone else about him and Armus out there together at times. It's a neat combination that I think will be a great weapon against several teams. I'm still amazed at times that Armus is a freshman too. He's going to be a great asset over the years I believe. And pretty good with the free throws so far.

And speaking of freshman, Hodges is getting in some good minutes and has impressed me on several occasions.

All in all, I think we have a bunch of guys that when they get hot, can do some damage in both out of conference and in conference play. I'm still anxious that they may not gel by conference time, but hopefully I'm wrong. I don't think it's a chemistry issue, as they appear to get along very well overall. It's more that they just don't have that bond yet to instinctively know what their teammates are likely to do in each situation. I'm confident that will come as they play together more in real games, but it's frustrating when you see all the talent there is, but see them struggle in a game.

Guys, take a deep breath.

Forbes and staff are using, as all coaching staffs do when they have a young and inexperienced team, the OCC games to play a ton of different combinations to see how each player reacts to the multitude of game situations, pressing, man to man, zone, half court offense, slow play, fast pace, foul trouble, how many positions can a player effectively play and the list goes on and on.

You cannot compare Fr, RSophs and 1st year jucos to the team of last year, 3 fifth yr Srs, a four year starting Sr and a two year starting Jr.

Continued..... and a Juco two year starter. Last year's team was loaded, and the results were as expected, NCAA berth.

This team will get better and better as they become acclimated to D1 competition. They will either play their way into the game rotations or ride the pine. Will they win it all this year, maybe not, but the foundation for winning a lot of games and possibly an NCAA berth is possible this year and years to come.

The Bucs have the talent and potential, now its all about the young and inexperienced players improving and the coaches determining the strengths of each player and putting the best rotation on the floir for the game situation.

Bucs could have beat Del. ST. by fifty, but the coaches opted, as they should have, to do eveything they could to improve the team rather than running up score.

Forbes and staff are looking at the big picture, Mar. 2018, Asheville.
