Not quite. According to ESPN's FPI, ECU has a 3.8% chance of beating Memphis.

Like I said you’re more likely to find a unicorn. 3ish% may as well be 0. I’m thinking you beat us by 40. No chance the ECU defense slows Memphis. I never thought I’d see the day by the way. Go kill U_F in the CCG. 04-cheers

In that scenario, Boise would probably get the NY6 bid.

As long as Memphis doesn't lose to ECU, the NY6 slot is ours. 07-coffee3

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the possibility of an upset. Memphis QB Ferguson has had off games in the past and Memphis needs to score points in order to win. Crazy stuff happens every week in college football.

ECU will bounce back. Right now, it is Memphis' turn in the sun.

Assuming a victory is the surest way to ensure a defeat. If ECU wins, they will earn it because I think Memphis will be motivated to play hard given it is Senior Day and a potential NY Day berth is on the line.

Dont worry...Memphis is not going to lose to ECU. We are about 2 recruiting classes behind Memphis in talent.

Gee, I don't know, ECU did pretty much look like the New England Patriots against Cincinnati...
I would give ECU more like 3.874% chance.

But there's only a 10 percent chance of that.

And before anyone says, "But UCF and USF haven't played yet," it doesn't matter. The only thing that's in question is whether UCF's margin of victory over USF will be greater than Memphis's margin of victory over ECU. Both should be comfortable blowouts.

No way Boise State goes to a New Years Bowl. The AAC champ has that locked up tight.

I'd love to believe that, but I don't see us blowing out USF. Not by a long shot. It's gonna be a war.

We need Fanhood's wisdom on this.

The opening line will be double digits. I think this one will be comfortably over in the first half.

In '96 Memphis beat the 6th ranked Tennessee Vols and Peyton Manning in the most improbable, ridiculous, mismatched upset in the history of college football. Nothing is a given.

Pretty much what I was thinking, too. ESPN tends to lowball ECU, it seems.

I could see ECU beating Memphis. ECU has the athletes to burn Memphis if they come out flat and lazy. But Memphis would have to play the first half giving absolutely no ***** and ECU would have to execute perfectly and get out to a 35ish point lead to give them a chance to hold on.

Sounds about like 3-4% chance, lol. But a chance.

I think you forgot to mention the pregame meal being tainted and everyone having food poisoning. Then I would raise the chances to at least 5%.

There will be way too much cheating for ECU to overcome and get the W!

That is all.
