Ding! Ding! Ding! I think we have a winner.

It took last minute heroics to beat a consensus bottom 5 FBS team.
With Stockstill back and a very stout receiving corps led by Ty Lee, we will certainly be playing our soft 4-2-5 zone. Unfortunately, MTSU can also run. MTSU operates from multiple sets and some misdirection in the running game.
Our best chance to slow them down is put a lot of pressure the QB.
Something to also consider, especially at home; their kicker, Conrad Rooker is 7/9 from 40-49 yards and 2/2 over 50 yards.
The MTSU base 4-3 defense can be exploited. A consistent passing game, a good day by Lawry, and with the added threat of SW running, we hopefully can do some exploitin'.
MTSU is a top 100 program that gave WKU everything it could handle.
We will have to play our best game of the year PLUS get some breaks to have a chance to win.
MTSU 34
ODU 20
MTSU indeed ran for 320 yards @ 6.4/per carry
I am most concerned that we didn't seem to address their rushing game in the initial gameplan, and we made no in-game adjustments to try and slow it down.

Do we have multiple sets and misdirection?

Found this a few minutes ago (it’s 2 weeks old). It provides a likelihood of receiving a bowl bid for teams that did not have the minimum number of wins (6) to be considered for a bowl bid AND would not receive a bid if there were openings because the school APR was too low.
“If the season ended today, the teams listed below would have APRs too low to get a bowl bid unless an eligible team turns one down.”
Temple (972)
UCLA (971)
Purdue (971)
Colorado (968)
Tulane (967)
Old Dominion (955)
UL Lafayette (954)
Texas Tech (947)
UNLV (943)
Louisiana Tech (937)
Another way of measuring our ‘progress’. After all, isn’t it really about the education that we should all be most concerned about?

RE: ODU @ MTSU
ODU sure picked a bad weekend to send out a letter asking for ODAF contributions. It's hard to feel enthusiastic especially from the FB debacle.

Hopefully, other boosters are not as short-sighted as others on this forum.
