It really is unacceptable. The NCAA infractions committee really needs to take a look at the Memphis program.

What's right is right. Dude got kicked out of the game for nothing.

I've seen nothing from the Memphis game, which is why I'm not commenting on whether the targeting call was correct or not.

What I am commenting on is, this is the 2nd or 3rd time you Memphis fans have b*tched and moaned about the officials and every single time you've won. It's like you people are sore winners.

But we are winners

For now. You won't be this good all the time, despite your proclamations to the contrary.
Eh maybe not. But probably still a bit better than conn. Continue to troll good sir. 04-cheers

Cool story there, sport. Really had me riveted. 07-coffee3

Interesting. I don't recall making such proclamations.

Agreed, they should do to Memphis what they did to SMU only X2. Two death penalties for the football program. That was horrible, why that player almost treated football as if it is actually a “contact” sport. That play was much worse than the Stanbeck “hit.”

RE: Worst targeting call?
I actually thought the unnecessary roughness penalty (with an additional unsportsmanlike conduct on Norvell for complaining about it) were by far the worst calls Ive seen in ages. The roughing penalty was just a normal run of the mill tackle on Hicks. No idea what that ref was thinking when he threw the flag. Then when Norvell complained they flagged him---making the erroneous call even worse. We honestly have terrible officiating in this league.

He thought he was being a good and decent human being by calling out the injustice of humanity. You seem to have an immoral compass. I pray for you.

Was this horrible human being arrested for this brutal hit??

Seriously though, targeting is one of those good ideas with horrible execution. There's automatic replay and it still gets called incorrectly all the time - can't screw it up if there's a replay and an ejection is on the line.

See, I knew this was gonna come up early and often. I don't give a shite if we win or lose. I want the refs to call a clean, even game. Here we see the antithesis of "you're only complaining about the refs because you lost". No. We are complaining about the refs because THEY. ARE. AN. EMBARRASSMENT.

Refs need to get a handle on this.

What size dress does the QB, who was throwing the ball, wear? Can't hit him high, can't hit him low. Perhaps flag college football should just go to flag football to keep everyone safe. This is one of the reasons football is not nearly as entertaining as it used to be and more boring to watch for me.

I can see why the UConn fans are upset. We should have been penalized for scoring so many points against the Huskies.

Exactly. It was obvious targeting from the naked eye. There was no need to even review it. The guilty player should be cut from the team and possibly expelled from school. I hope Aresco looks into it and hands out appropriate punishment like bowl game ineligibility for the Memphis Tigers.
