and DW missed games with injuries...Would have had multiple 2000 yard seasons if I recall correctly. Again, I don't want to take away from DH. We are lucky he is a tiger, no doubt.

No, you are correct about not wanting to take anything away from DW. I don't want to do that either. My thought is simply that Henderson looks like a comparable talent to me.

Nothing could replace DeAngelo staying for a fourth year and his Heisman campaign, etc. He is a hero to me and I loved seeing him introduced on the Jumbotron yesterday.

Somebody compare their stats for the first two years for me. Remember that DeAngelo was the main attraction when he played. Henderson shares time with Taylor, Pollard, and Dorceus when Dorceus is healthy. And, Ant Miller is the real focus of today's offense.

That's what made Deangelo's numbers and career that much more spectacular. Everyone knew who was getting the ball and he still did what he did. Special.

D'angelo was NOT the featured back his freshman year. Cannot remember dude's name but he was a senior, and D would come in and seemingly bust a long one every time he touched the ball. Avg'ed 6.6 YPC but only 684 on the season with a long of 86.

I believe D'Angelo's best was a 4.23 40 but that is really nit-picking between the two on my part. TTT is not around any longer but I still have the DVD that he put together of every TD that year and DW made guys just look silly. Henderson can hit a hole and knows when to burst (scratch where it itches as TW told DW), I don't think there have been many of his long TD's where he was even touched....a testament to the O-Line and secondary blockers as well as his vision. 3 TD's I remember from DW's 22 TD year, one where he put on the brakes almost at the line of scrimmage and left a dude grabbing thin air. One against Louisville in the monster 50 pt game (L) with them where he finds a little crease through the secondary and if you were watching it from a higher angle, you could tell before he hit the second level defenders he was GONE. Lastly, a TD against USF where he ran down the line (east/west as it were) then hit the hole that wasn't there and if you were watching the video that TTT made you can count 9 guys from USF somewhere in the picture frame either missing him or chasing him. If he got the corner....see ya! Didn't matter what angle a defender had on him.

When Henderson goes through a north/south hole he’s near or at full speed before the defense even realizes it, sniffing the end zone. Then he can outrun them.

Henderson makes it look easy but that's special.

As I said earlier this year....I don't see how the people who voted for the preseason all AAC conference team did not have Henderson on any of the three teams they picked. Whoever those people are...they were totally asleep on their preseaons picks if they did not recognize Henderson's talent before the beginning of the season. Maybe he has a chip on his shoulder over it.

Summer before last, Coach was up this way and I asked him, after watching the guys in Spring practice, who was his fastest player. I had barely finished my question...”Darrell Henderson, he can fly.”

THIS! Taylor and Henderson are fun to watch.

Ferguson's new found rushing skills and Taylor have made a huge difference in our goal line offense. We were already really good, but now we are almost unstoppable.

Both are/were super quick. I like Henderson a lot. It’s hard to compare the two. DeAngelo might score every time he touched the ball on this team. He was incredible. He had crazy vision and could cut on a dime.

Henderson is really fast...

He is missing the sudden change of direction that the great small backs have. It appears he has good vision I just don't think he can get to the holes he sees sometimes.

Deangelo's vision and cut back ability is what made him superior to any back we have had since him. I really doubt we will see another RB as good as him come through our program in our lifetimes. He was a once in a generation back for a program like us.

Terdell Middleton (April 8, 1955 – April 3, 2015) was a professional American football player who played running back for seven seasons in the NFL. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, he was originally a third round pick in the 1977 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, Middleton was traded to the Green Bay Packers in the preseason. He went to the Pro Bowl after the 1978 season, when he ran for 1,116 yards, sixth best in the NFL. He also played in the USFL for the Memphis Showboats in 1984.

Terdell Middleton April 8, 1955-April 3, 2015

He ran two sub 4.3 40’s for pro scouts in our turf room. I saw it with my own eyes. 4.27 and 4.29 (both hand timed)
