Firefox
Yesterday when I opened Firefox, it told me that it had applied an update. It then immediately froze and stopped working. Task Manager showed 100% usage. So I closed through Task Manager and tried again...and again...and again. The same result. So I switched to Chrome.

Anyone else have this problem?

RE: Firefox
I had the Firefox update this week. It's working great. My tech advise is to use what works for you.

RE: Firefox
I use Chrome. I was told yesterday I had a Windows update that needed to be installed, and that I should Update and Restart. My computer froze about halfway through. I'll have to try again on Monday when I don't need my computer all day.

RE: Firefox
most likely you need to disable your add ons for Firefox before upgrading most of them will not function with the new version anyway like preventing the stupid "tab view"

or you need to save your bookmarks and other things and do a fresh install

the new version so far is much better than the last 10 of so garbage versions they subjected us all to now if they will just get rid of the tab view it would be even better

I had disabled most of my add ons before the update. They were making Firefox run slow and crash. There are new versions of most add-ons that work with the new version. The result is, the new version is faster and more stable (with new add ons).

I found Chrome to have a lot of spyware. I don't even use google search unless I can't find what I need with others.

This update is a new start of Firefox, which is now called Firefox Quantum. It is brand new source codes.

RE: Firefox
Firefox Quantum is working GREAT--really great on my PC. Much faster and needed, appreciated since the internet speed from my provider is average or less.I think it helps make up for my sub par(yet inexpensive) net speed.

RE: Firefox
The old Firefox had memory/freezing issues with more than a few tabs open; let's see if they addressed it in Quantum.

RE: Firefox
I loved the old Firefox and, therefore, hate the new. The day of the "upgrade" I was not given a choice, it just happened - and yes, I had problems immediately (although it did not freeze). I complained to Mozilla (FWIW), and I will say that the next day Firefox was working fine for me... except for my favorite extensions, #1 being "NoScript", which is no longer supported at all.

I use Chrome for most things, Firefox and MS Edge for the rest. No such thing as the ONE perfect tool for every task, IMO.

2 cents worth (if that much).

RE: Firefox
I found Chrome to be full of spyware.

I found Edge to be full of nothing. I got pop-ups, pop-unders, voice overs for ads that were not even listed on the page. I almost had to reboot to get the program to close.
