This defense is good! So far Monarchs are giving up 57 pts a game. I think this defense could carry us pretty far.

Only have played 1 bad half against Temple. Other than that its been crazy good defense.

Temple was 8-12 on 3-pt shots in 1st half. 2-7 in second half.

The two 3-pt shots they hit in the second half:
8:07 left after we cut the lead to 1 point
1:47 left after we cut the lead to 2 points

Jones is always going to be a strong man-to-man, defense first coach. It is who he is. I don't remember seeing ODU play any zone against Indiana State yesterday. If they did against Temple then it wasn't much.

They did some against Temple. It did not go well

If it was in the first half then neither did the man-to-man. Besides, they probably won't ever play it very well if they seldom play it at all.

They played a little 1-3-1.

Got that right. Temple shot us right out of it. I do think X up high will present some challenges when we use it but Temple was really good in that first half. And I expect that they will turn out to be really good most of the year.

Temple was successful shooting against any type of defense we played in the first half. They got a lot of wide open looks from 3 and were hardly missing before the defense finally adjusted around half time to what they were doing.

Another solid performance against a solid program. Dayton might not be as good as the Sweet 16 teams of the past couple years but that was a good win. We pretty much controlled the game from the beginning and in the 2nd half we snuffed out any little run they tried to get going. Good job boys
