They sell beer now?
Saw an ad for NIU Basketball. Almost fell out of my chair when I saw that they’re doing a special on a Coronas and slices of Pizza. I gotta make it to a b-ball game this season...04-rock

I believe it's the 3rd season for beer. First season you could only drink it in designated areas. Now, there are actually selling beer on the track behind the lower bowl of seats. I believe they had 2 beer stands on Tuesday.

Smart. Last year I went to a few games and had to wait in the longer concession lines just to get a beer. Would be nice to check out how long the line is at the stand on the track and head over there whenever there's a break on the action and a short wait.

I actually read this article a while back and wondered if this is something NIU should explore. You could partner with a brewery that has NIU ties and create something only available at the stadium which would also enhance the gameday experience. It's seems like a lot more schools are rolling these out.

I'm in.

That being said....Wednesday night there was an announcement/commercial for ...I think...Pollyanna Brewing??

Did not see it being sold at the game but I wasn't really searching for a "cold one" at the time.

RE: They sell beer now?
Lagunitas isn't going to produce and can a beer for NIU that will sell like 20 cases worth of product. Just won't happen. They're too big and have way too many other things going on to create a special recipe/package beer for NIU. As bad as Purdue has been, they average 40k+ in attendance and had a game earlier this year over 60k.

Pollyanna (Lemont), Solemn Oath (Naperville), Penrose (Geneva), Two Brothers (Winfield) might make sense...although Two Brother's probably wouldn't bother either. NIU would probably have to partner with the brewery and subsidize the cost of designing, printing and canning one of their existing beers.

Crystal Lake Brewery might be worth exploring as well, not terribly far from Dekalb

As a craft beer type of guy I’m all for this idea. It’s something unique. Would love to buy some husky brew
